Review: E-WIN Champion Series Upgraded Gaming chair

It’s been more than four years since we reviewed E-WIN’s Champion Series gaming chair. Back then, we thought it was a high-quality product, noting its build quality, design and overall comfort. The chair’s high-density foam gave firm support, and truth be told, it’s been our primary office chair these past four years.

Needless to say, the old gal is showing her age, so the fine folks at E-WIN, , sent us one of their new E-WIN gaming chairs to take for a spin.

This is an upgraded model of Champion Series gaming chair, so let’s take a look if this updated model is worth your purchase!

Unboxing and Assembly

E-WIN is known for making some of the best heavy duty gaming chairs in the industry, and they certainly didn’t skimp on quality when it comes to the box and packing materials. All the chair’s components were adequately protected with packing foam and pieces were individually wrapped in plastic.

The assembly process was straightforward, with E-WIN providing printed instructions on color poster board, along with necessary tools if you don’t already have them handy.

All told, the chair was set up and ready to use within 30 minutes, which was about what it took the previous time.

Design and Features

The E-WIN Champion Series Chair boasts a stylish and modern design that’s available in various colors to suit different tastes. As they say, “old habits die hard,” so, of course, I went with the solid black and red accent design once more.

Features:

  • E-WIN Stain Resistant 2.0 PU Leather
  • E-WIN Cold-Cure Foam
  • 4D PU Padded Armrest
  • Locking Full-tilt Mechanism
  • Hub-Less Casters

Durability and Build Quality

E-WIN’S Champion Series gaming chair comes wrapped in what the company calls the “first stain resistant E-WIN 2.0 PU leather.” This is a high-quality synthetic leather that feels much closer to genuine leather than the previous model we reviewed.

The leather is also supposed to have improved flexing with scratch and abrasion resistance. E-WIN says it was certified by TÜV SÜD to last more than 200,000 abrasion cycles, which is 10 times more durable than the industry standard leather.

Packed inside the Champion chair is E-WIN’s Cold-Cure Foam, which is a high-density foam that’s said to be engineered to be two times heavier than regular foam, per cubit inch.

Comfort and Ergonomics

After we assembled the chair and plopped our butts on it, we immediately noticed the foam’s heavier and denser feel. It feels much more supportive but comfortable, as well. I’m someone who suffers from an achy back, and I felt a noticeable difference in how long I could sit in the chair and still be comfortable.

E-WIN was also kind enough to throw in some incredibly comfy velvet plush neck and lumbar support pillows! E-WIN’s new pillows come with magnets inserted inside that allow it to sit without straps, but there are also elastic straps included.

The previous E-WIN chair we reviewed also came with neck and lumbar support pillows, but the quality and comfort in the new pillows is impressive. The lumbar support pillows really helps my lower back and keeps me typing behind the keyboard!

The chair also features full-metal PU padded 4D armrests that can be adjusted down, left, right, forward, back, turned in or turned out. It can recline up to 155 degrees and the seat can tilt up to 30 degrees, thanks to the chair’s adjustable multi-tilt mechanism.

All E-WIN’s Champion Series gaming chairs come with E-WIN PRIME hub-less wheels, which feature all-metal ball bearings, giving the chair a softer and smoother glide. We noticed a marked improvement as we tested both chairs, and E-WIN’s new model rolls over our bumpy concrete office floor like it’s butter.

The chair is upholstered in durable fabric, with a strong metal frame providing stability. The adjustability of the chair is impressive; it features a 360-degree swivel, a tilting backrest, and adjustable armrests. The inclusion of two pillows for lumbar and neck support is a thoughtful touch, enhancing comfort.

Price and Value for Money

Priced competitively, E-WIN’s Champion Series normally retails for $479 but is on sale for $419, at the moment. E-WIN is also offering a Christmas Sale, further reducing the price. Using Coupon Code XMAS15 gets you 15 percent off, and Code “XMAS25” will get an additional 20 percent off your purchase.

Compared to other gaming chairs on the market, the chair offers good value for its features and quality, while sitting in a mid-range price bracket, making it accessible to a wide range of users. Considering its durability and comfort, the investment seems justified. E-WIN’s warranty and customer support also add to the value proposition.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Ergonomic design ensures comfort over long periods.
  • High-quality materials and build.
  • Easy to assemble with clear instructions.
  • Adjustable features and additional pillows for added support.

Cons:

  • Price might be slightly high for budget-conscious buyers.
  • Limited color options compared to some competitors.

Conclusion and Recommendation

The E-WIN Champion Series Ergonomic Computer Gaming Office Chair is a solid choice for both gamers and office workers seeking comfort and style. Its ergonomic design, coupled with high-quality materials, makes it a worthy investment for anyone spending long hours seated.

While it may be a bit pricey for some, the features and durability justify the cost. I would recommend this chair to anyone looking for a blend of comfort, style, and longevity in their seating.
