SEGA might be teasing a Bayonetta PC port

As part of all the annual April Fool’s Day hoopla, SEGA has released an 8-bit version of Bayonetta, aptly named 8-bit Bayonetta, for free on Steam today. It’s actually the same game PlatinumGames released several years ago in browser form and is a fairly simple, yet fun single-screen shooter.

But what’s more interesting than this game is that website Gaming On PC has discovered a link within the game’s achievements list that points to a Bayonetta teaser webpage on SEGA’s domain. The page, titled “Coming Soon,” shows a countdown that will end on April 11 and a background featuring Bayonetta’s patented heel-guns.

Could the fact that SEGA has released 8-bit Bayonetta on Steam combined with this new countdown signal that SEGA will finally release Bayonetta on PC?
