Most of us who grew up in the ’80s and ’90s can remember some great stories about visiting our local department stores and malls, where we’d beg our parents to buy the latest video game that all our friends were raving about.
I still remember how excited I was when our dad randomly bought us Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Arcade Game on NES when we stopped by Wal-Mart one day. It caught us by total surprise because we only stopped in for a few things, but my brother and I left the store with a brand new video game, and that always felt amazing.
Our friends at iRetroGamer recently published their latest video about what it was like to collect for the Master System in the ’90s. You’ve probably seen several videos on our site of Tyler’s and his father’s adventures collecting various video games, but this latest video really takes it to the next level with Tyler’s dad giving him a ton of Master System games for Christmas.
Please feel free to share some of your favorite game collecting stories from when you were young!
