If you don’t know, a pretty ambitious fan project came to a close the other day, when Overbound Game Studio finally released Sonic Time Twisted, after more than 12 years in development.
While we do enjoy a lot of Sonic fan games out there, many of them feel more like rehashes of the classic games or just demos/unfinished projects. But Sonic Time Twisted is one of the few that stands out there as a completed game and, more uniquely, the developers made the game by creating their own assets and sprites – rather than taking them from official Sonic games.
On top of brand new visuals, they have also recorded a brand new soundtrack. While I can’t say it’s as catchy as the original Sonic games, it is very good and fits really well with the new environments.
To mark the occasion, we are going to be reviewing the game in issue #3 of our sister publication, Mega Visions Magazine and have recorded a ‘let’s play’ or ‘Mega Play’ (as we call it), so you can get a taste of the game in action.
Check out Mega Visions Magazine issue #3 for the full review.
