Thankfully, fan translations make this game playable today.

SEGA dropped quite a bit of interesting announcements during the Phantasy Star Thanksgiving 2014 event at the Ariake Coliseum in Tokyo, Japan, on Aug. 16.

In addition to providing some new information on what to expect from Phantasy Star Online 2: Episode 3, SEGA announced that Phantasy Star Generations 1 and 2 will be released for PlayStation 3 on the Japanese PSN on Aug. 20 for 800 yen.

PS Generations are remakes SEGA released on the PlayStation 2 under the SEGA Ages 2500 series. At one point in time, there were plans to release these in North America and Europe, but SEGA canceled them because they hate us.

If you want to give a big “f**k you” to SEGA and have a PS3 and Japanese PS3 account, you can buy PS Generations 1 and 2 and use Phantasy Star Cave’s fan translations for the first and second game.
