How to enter
Everybody has two chances to win one of these great bundles, so we have two ways of entering…
First chance via SEGANerds.com and Facebook:
All you have to do is leave a comment below (at the bottom of this post) or on our Facebook post telling us: your FIRST Sonic memory/experience.
It could be the first time you played a Sonic game, watched a Sonic cartoon or saw and stole your friend’s Sonic plushie because it was just so damn cute and fluffy!
And they don’t have to be ‘happy’ memories either – maybe the first time you experienced Sonic was because your brother’s friend brought the game around and they wouldn’t let you play.
Just let us know your first Sonic memory.
Second chance via Twitter:
Your second chance comes via Twitter and because you have fewer characters at your disposal we are going to make things simpler – just tell us: your favourite level from ANY Sonic game and include the hashtag #Sonic23Giveaway.
For example: @SEGANerds Green Hill Zone! #Sonic23Giveaway
Or feel free to be a bit more descriptive: @SEGANerds I love Green Hill Zone because it reminds me of running wild through fields – naked! #Sonic23Giveaway
Well… you get the idea.
Anyway the competition will run for one week and closes on Tuesday 1st July at 11:59pm GMT – soget your entries ASAP!

My first memory of Sonic was sticking around after Yu-Gi-Oh! was finished and seeing previews for a show called Sonic X. I loved the show and it was a fun thing to look forward to every Saturday.
I still haven’t watched any Sonic X… in fact my knowledge of the Sonic cartoons is painfully poor. I really need to fix that!
What was that Sonic cartoon where he had kids (I think they were his kids) and they all played instruments or something? That looked so weird to me when I was a kid, I refused to watch it! Lol.
My first Sonic memory/experience:
When I was around 5 years old I remember coming home to a games console sitting beneath the family TV. I didn’t know what it was but I knew I’d love it forever. It was a SEGA Master System 2. I didn’t know at the time but this was a special variant as it did not have Alex Kidd built in but Sonic the Hedgehog 8-bit. This was my first experience playing as Sonic and in fact my first videogame I ever played along with a boxed copy of After Burner my mum bought with the system. I still love Sonic
to this day and I cherish the 8-bit version of Sonic the Hedgehog for its different level designs to the Mega Drive counterpart, the Yuzo Koshiro soundtrack and for making me a life long SEGA fan. Thanks Mum!
My younger brother and I were huge fans of Mortal Kombat in the arcade so my older brother wanted to buy us the game for Christmas but we didn’t have a Super NES or a Genesis. So he found out that the Genesis was the superior version, what with all the blood and fatalities still in tact, he bought us the Genesis 2 with the Sonic 2 Pack-in. After getting our fill of MK we tried out Sonic and we were instantly hooked. Still a big Sonic fan today…I even enjoyed Sonic Lost World (don’t judge me)
Playing as Knuckles in one of the early Sonic games!
My first memory of Sonic was watching my cousin play it when I was tiny, and thinking it looked really hard!
My first introduction to Sonic was when I was 5 years old. it was about a week before Christmas back in ’91 I remember waking up during the night hearing the now familiar jingle of Green Hill Zone from the other room. Intrigued, I crept up to the door and took a peek through the small opening and saw my parents, kneeled on the floor testing out what was to be my Xmas present, a brand new Sega Megadrive. It was when I turned my attention to the left to the television I saw Sonic for the very first time. I’ll never forget that moment 😀
I remember the first time i played Sonic, i believe it was 1992-93 or so, i was 5 years old and it was my bro’s b-day. My bro had bothered my parents for months and months about wanting a Sega Genesis for his b-day. I had no idea what he was asking for because i was too young to care and the only thing i had played at the time was a NES on a black & white TV. Well, to our surprise, our parents bought him a Genesis Model 1 that came bundled with Sonic the Hedgehog. My bro immediately plugged the console in and began playing Sonic. After about a week or so of watching him play on and off, i finally got a chance to give it a go. After that, i pretty much became a huge Sega and Sonic fan. I had T-Shirts, toys, and bought Sonic 2, 3, and Knuckles when they were released within the next few years. There was something about the attitude that Sonic brought that i really appreciated. I was soo used to the goody Plumber in Red that i never really realized what Sega had to offer on their end. 20+ years later and i’ve got a huge library of Sega games, from Genesis, Saturn, DC, CD, and 32X. I will always reminisce about the good ol’ days of Sega Vs. Nintendo. There was nothing like it then and there never will be.
my first memory was when i got a sega genisis for christmas with sonic 2 i played it all day i loved it and i still play it till this day and so do my kids. sonic is one of the best games out there i have it for my playstation i have it on my tablet. i actually bought it for my tablet it is the only game i have actually payed for to download. sonic rocks
My first memory of Sonic is the time a friend of mine introduced me to Sonic games. We played some levels from Sonic 1, 2 and CD. It was unlike anything I had ever seen. We had a lot of fun playing those games. When I went to sleep, I had nightmares involving running through loops at unbelievable speeds. lol
My earliest memory of Sonic is seeing the original game being showcased on a TV at a store’s window. Now, I can’t remember if I already recognized the character at the time due to the cartoon or maybe a game magazine, but in any case the quality of the graphics alone blew my young mind away; at that point in time my only console was an already outdated Atari 2600 clone, and I had barely tried the NES at a friend’s house. I immediately begged my parents to buy me the console along with the game, and they said they would consider it. Sometime later, they brought me a present… it was a Sega console all right, but not exactly what I was expecting. As you can easily guess, it was the Master System; they bought it instead of the Genesis because it came with the Light Phaser and the 3D glasses, and thus they saw it as more valuable. I was incredibly disappointed, though in time I learned to appreciate the console, and now it’s my most treasured gaming possession, still plugged to my TV.
Funnily enough, despite having had my SMS for a very long time and its acquisition being the result of my desire to play Sonic the Hedgehog, I never actually played a Sonic game on it until last year, when I bought a copy of Sonic 2 online. It quickly became one of my favorite games for the system.
