AtGames announces HDMI Genesis Flashback pre-order details
Shipments scheduled to begin Fall 2017
AtGames has released details on its upcoming range of SEGA Genesis consoles, including its highly anticipated SEGA Genesis Flashback, which will include HDMI out for 720p video display.
Pre-orders for the SEGA Genesis Flashback, Classic Game Console and Ultimate Portable Game Player will begin on July 28 from select retailers, to include Target, Best Buy and GameStop, with shipments planned for this fall.
The Genesis Flashback looks like a Model 1 Genesis and will have 85 pre-installed games, 2.4ghz wireless controllers, a cartridge slot, controller ports compatible with legacy Genesis controllers, scan-line filtering and a save/pause/rewind feature.
You can view the full release of games here, but we’ve been told that there will be 10 more Genesis games added to the list of previously announced games, with 10 of the “shovelware” games removed, bringing the library of pre-installed games to 55 Genesis, Master System and Game Gear games and 30 shovelware games.
Expect a full review of the Genesis Flashback in the next issue of Mega Visions Magazine!

Nice lineup– I hope this will be worth it.
@seganerds is this device better than the stuff ATGames is putting out now?
Over Christmas i almost bought the ATGames Sega Handheld..until i checked youtube for reviews…
ALL ATGames devices have sound emulation problems i think…
The Sega AtGames units all had some weird audio issues with certain Sega Genesis tones.
They claim the audio will be authentic this time around and I honestly don’t see a reason why it shouldn’t be considering how the emulation on the unit will likely work.
Think Retron5 (but maybe not using RetroArch) so it should be accurate enough.
The new handheld variant might still have this issues but fingers crossed they made a good upate to it. Shouldn’t be that hard to fix.
Really the handheld one is a nice novelty plus with the SD card slot but the bad audio and lack of saving was horrible.
Really hope they got it right this time.
hopefully those not getting in on the pre-order can still buy one cause Sega does what Nintendon’t.
Master System games, that sounds good.
Hope Game Gear emulation has a secret two player mode.
Though I’d like to load up my own roms and homebrew (Mega Qbert anyone?) to it and remove the shovelware, hopefully someone will learn a way to modify it completely but hey since it copies real carts maybe an adapter could be made for loading off an SD card or the like.
Hopefully this one will teach Nintendo a good lesson.
Next time though include Sega CD and 32X emulation before everyone forgets they existed heh.
