A fan recreated Studiopolis Zone from Sonic Mania for download
When SEGA revealed Sonic Mania back in July, many fans couldn’t wait to get their hands on the actual game. To ease the pain of waiting, YouTuber yesmen10 has recreated the much-publicized Studiopolis Zone as a free download.

I think truth is reviewers disliked new characters after how they were used with Sonic Adventure but when used right they work out just fine.
I always felt like they blasted additional characters in the Sonic universe too much while being totally okay with others all cause they thought it would make a bigger mess.
It just has to be done right is all, sides it was a tradition back when.
Maybe SEGA will get the hint and let them add lots of secret characters to unlock as an optional bonus.
