Streets of Rage 2 vinyl coming by way of Data Discs

Data Discs has been kicking butt the past few months, bringing some of SEGA’s best video game soundtracks to vinyl. They’ve already released a Streets of Rage, Shenmue, Shinobi III and Super Hang-On vinyls, and they’ve just announced their latest addition to the series.

Beginning on Feb. 27, Data Discs will take orders for a double-LP Streets of Rage 2 vinyl that will cost £22.99 to £24.99, plus shipping, with an expected ship date of early April.

“Widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential game soundtracks of all time, STREETS OF RAGE 2 remains a towering achievement of the 16-bit era,” the description reads. “Data Discs is extremely proud to be releasing this masterpiece of FM synthesis, composed by Yuzo Koshiro in 1992 and sounding more relevant today than ever.”

What’s more Data Discs says the “audio has been carefully remastered using multiple sources, including the original NEC PC-88 files supplied by Koshiro himself, and packaged in original artwork sourced from the SEGA archives in Japan.”

There will be three editions you can choose from:

  • Two x 180g transparent vinyl with black smoke effect and blood splatter (LIMITED EDITION, available exclusively from this website) – £24.99
  • Two x 180g transparent vinyl with black smoke effect – £24.99
  • Two x 180g classic black vinyl – £22.99
