The father of Sonic the Hedgehog has announced his new title that takes players to the open sea for some whale and dolphin watching fun.
Prope’s REAL WHALES will be available on iOS and Android devices today for $4.99 and will allow players to board a boat to search for whales and dolphins. Once you find them, you can take photos and later view a 3D gallery of the animals you’ve spotted throughout your time at sea.
Honestly, I really don’t have much more to say about this game. It seems like it’s geared towards kids, but I can’t imagine it will keep them captivated for long, especially when they’re probably too busy playing Call of Duty. Perhaps Naka should have given players the ability to spear the whales or trap the dolphins in tuna nets. I’m sure that would be a big hit with the kids.

This isn’t as much a game as it is an interactive education tool.
This game is a spin off of his other education app called Real Animals.
I am really happy that unlike other former Sega developers he is not harping on the success of his past (Yu Suzuki) or fading into obscurity (everyone else). He has obviously not created anything comparable to Sonic the Hedgehog but his iPhone games are pretty good and would greatly benefit from some more publicity. Most notably Flick Pig, Ivy the Kiwi and Power of Coin.
I plan on reviewing them all so far I have just reviewed Power of Coin:

I also purchased one of his apps called Past Cam. I would describe it but it is best if you just download the free version to see how it makes photography easier.
