Let’s celebrate the Dreamcast’s 14th birthday

Hey, did you know yesterday was 9/9/13?!? That means it was our lovely Dreamcast’s birthday.

To celebrate our little buddy growing up and turning 14, we played through some of my favorite lesser-known games in the Dreamcast’s library. We kick things off with some Seaman action, and then we switch to Sword of the Berserk: Guts’ Rage, Super Magnetic Neo, Zombie Revenge and more.

I love all of these games, and if you’ve never played them, check out the video and see what they’re all about!

  1. Hooray! I knew you guys wouldn’t forget… (You may have said something on a recent podcast, but I’m several ‘casts behind and still catching up). I really enjoyed Sword of the Berserk, although I think I had to use an Action Replay or Game Shark to complete it. Still waiting with fingers crossed for a 3DS re-release of Seaman…

I myself played Samba de Amigo with my daughter yesterday, complete with the Sega-themed DLC tracks. A good time was had by all.

The track list is better, the maracas work better than the Wii remotes, and you have the option to play with the controller if you just want a more relaxing play through. Seriously, you can borrow mine (either DC or Wii) sometime if you want. I’m in Columbia (MD).

          1. Yep, five minutes from my house, Airman. You probably brushed shopping carts with my wife and kid while you were there, depending on the time, of course.

          2. No, I’m not originally from the area (stationed here for a year or so). Looks like a good place, though. Will there be an announcement on the site or on Facebook should it come to pass?

          3. Cool. I’ll be watching for it. According to Destructoid, Gunstar Heroes shares a birthday with the Dreamcast (9 September) and turned 20 last week (just like Mortal Kombat did). I am old, old, old…
