SEGA is “Currently Investigating” ways to make Shenmue I and II HD a reality
Earlier today, SEGA of Europe released another #AskSEGA video segment that answered an assortment of questions from curious fans. One of the most interesting questions that were asked was the status of Shenmue I and II HD. Community & Social Marketing Manager Dan Sheridan gave a response (around 1:52) that Shenmue fans will be pleased to hear.
“With regards to Shenmue I and II HD, of course we would love to release these tomorrow. Sadly it’s not as simple as porting the games to current platforms, as we would need to ensure that any HD remaster lives up to the quality of the original titles, and with games as immersive as Shenmue I and II there are further complications from licensed products that were included in the original games.
That said, we’d love to do it and are currently investigating how to make it a reality.” — Dan Sheridan
While some may have hoped that SEGA was ready to release them in the near future, it makes me hopeful knowing that SEGA is currently investigating ways to make Shenmue I and II HD a reality.

Allow me to investigate this issue with you, SEGA…
Hmm…..
Yes, that’s… that’s very interesting…
Hmmm….
Now, DO IT!
(*I’m certain it is truly that easy)
It is amazing how it has taken Sega longer to remaster Shenmue 1 than it takes YS.Net to get Shenmue 3 done. Do the fucking math. Shenmue has been in consistent demand ever since they announced the Dreamcast Digital Re-Releases.
In 2nd place is Jet Set Radio Future.
It would appear Skies has been on #2
