SEGA confirms that several new Sonic games are coming out this year
While we already know that Sonic Boom: Fire and Ice is coming out sometime in 2016, we did not know what other surprises SEGA had in store for Sonic the Hedgehog‘s 25th anniversary. According to the latest article from ToyWorld magazine, SEGA has confirmed that there will be multiple Sonic the Hedgehog games coming out this year.

There have been rumblings about more Sonic games from sources like Crush40, but this is the first time SEGA has officially confirmed that there will be at least one more game coming out this year.
What do you hope to see from SEGA and Sonic this year? Sound off in the comments below !

And for the love of God another racing game.
i would move heaven and earth for another racing game from Sumo.
I hope for a Sonic game that stops messing around. I don’t want anymore boosting, 2.5D, combat systems, bug-eyed Pixar graphics, pot trip settings, uninhabited worlds, Sonic-only playability, Eggman-only villainy, thin plots, generic Sonic-Tails-Knuckles-Amy main characters, weak enemies, overpaced and semi-automatic gameplay, clunky physics, archaic map screens and/or level select screens, overly-large and space-restricting levels, short games, cruddy comedy, one-dimensional characters, hipster voices, or Genesis era rehashes and/or throwbacks.
In other words, nothing like what the series has been since 2010.
But I also don’t want any anime melodrama, photo-realistic visual styles, blatant romance between humans and anthros, swords, fishing, enemies that take fifty hits to take down, 13 playable characters per game, grunge rock and/or crap rap, wandering around HUBs with no mini-map, high-pitched voices, or badly-written Engrish vocal themes.
I want something GOOD. Something that does modern Sonic RIGHT. Something that succeeds where past games have failed. For the 25th anniversary, and then consistently beyond that. Please.
If that’s your list of nopes, then I have a feeling this is no longer a series you’re going to find any satisfaction in playing from this point on. XD
You think so? There’s been a LOT of problems with the series’ current direction, and the second list of things I mentioned were identified as problems before now. I doubt SEGA and Sonic Team are about to just throw their hands up and stop trying to improve their series. And it’s becoming pretty obvious that what more and more people are looking for out of Sonic is a middle ground. So that’s probably what they’ll keep working towards.
Well all of us want a gritty sonic adventure 3 on next Gen but we’re not going to get that..
I don’t know anybody who wants a gritty SA3. And that doesn’t even sound like what blixt was saying. He’s just saying, it’s time for a big, proper Sonic game that feels like it belongs in the modern world. It doesn’t have to be gritty to do that, or even super dark and serious. It just has to be more than what Sonic has been lately, and that means doing just the right amount.
Lol You’re funny okay that’s just what I want wasn’t saying that’s what he wants.
