Sonic Boom is not listed in Cartoon Network’s 2017-18 line-up
Sonic Boom has had quite a successful run on Cartoon Network, with 2 seasons and over 70 episodes under its belt. The series has won numerous awards including 2017’s Chicago Independent Film Festival award for best animated series. According to the latest press release from Cartoon Network, they might not feel the same about Sonic Boom.
The new press release shows a full list of the 2017-18 lineup for Cartoon Network and Sonic Boom is not listed. It is a possibility that the series is being renewed and there needs to be an official announcement, but it is curious to see Sonic Boom not getting a mention at all.

Not surprising from CN, they killed the awesome Thundercats reboot. I’m surprised about Sega. Given how successful the first season and the merchandise were, I’d expect at least them promoting the show. At the same time I wouldn’t be surprised if Sega of Japan gave the order to just let it go into obscurity. Maybe the ratings were bad in Japan, maybe they don’t wanna risk brand confussion. Whatever the case is, this show will be missed. I liked the humor used.
There a many statements that can be made about Sonic, but one of the most objective would be how Sonic Boom is a failure all around and its toys not only don’t sell but they are impossible to find in stores.
Call me wrong and all that but it might get shifted to Disney XD since Turner is turning Boomerang into a subscription service in North America. Unless SEGA didn’t confirm anything for a Season 3.
And with Castle of Illusion’s suddenly came back into PSN and Xbox Live, it’s very likely that SEGA has made a deal with Disney. Dunno what kind deal it is but may be it’s including that one.
