Puyo Puyo Tetris now priced at $29.99 on Nintendo.com
When SEGA announced Puyo Puyo Tetris would release at retail in the West on the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, we were pretty excited … that is until we noticed the curious price differences between the two versions.
You see, the PS4 version was priced at $29.99, while the Switch version was $10 more expensive at $39.99. We suppose SEGA justified this by adding a couple puyo and tetrimino keychains along with the game.
Luckily for us Switch owners, SEGA appears to have come to their collective senses as the price has been adjusted and is listed at $29.99. However, we should point out that if you click on the “buy physical” links to GameStop and Amazon, the physical release is still listed at $39.99.
This could simply mean that GameStop and Amazon have yet to update their pricing, but it could also mean the digital version will be the only one to receive the $10 discount.
If this is the case, will you purchase the digital or physical version?

I’m honestly going to flip a coin on this one–I generally go digital on a game I absolutely, positively won’t sell off down the line, but having a physical box on my shelf that says “Puyo Puyo” in 2017 (and not “Puyo Pop,” even) is almost worth the premium to me. That’s just how my wires are crossed, though.
I already picked up the digital Japanese version. I don’t have to worry about changing games to play a quick match online
