SEGA obtained exclusive rights to distribute official games for Tokyo 2020 Olympics

For the past couple of years, SEGA and Nintendo have mutually released games based on the Summer and Winter Olympic games. In a recent post by Japanese site 4Gamer, it had been revealed that SEGA had gotten exclusive rights to distribute the official games for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

A number of interesting questions arise following this exclusivity deal. It will be curious to see if the Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games titles will continue, along with the officially licensed Olympic games we’ve seen in the past. Will we be seeing Tokyo 2020 games with only SEGA characters? It’s always fun to speculate!
