Play Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed free this weekend

The nice folks at SEGA have decided to give us all something today over this long holiday as they have made Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed free to play on Steam from now until 1 p.m. Sunday Pacific Time. If that’s not enough, they also slashed the price on the game by 75 percent, making it a very reasonable $7.49.

Oh yeah, you can also get Metal Sonic and the Outrun stage for only .74 cents. That’s insane!

If you’re saying to yourself, “Hey, who care’s about this deal because I already own it on my Xbox 360?!” Well, how about the fact this version has three exclusive racers from Football Manager, Total War: Shogun and Team Fortress 2. Yeah, how ’bout that!

You can get to the game’s Steam page here.

  1. I paid so much for my copy around 15 or 20 I think, but I got plenty of enjoyment out of it to justify it. Playing it on easy or normal wasn’t much fun but somehow hard and expert modes kept up a good balanced challenge. I got used to Mario Kart blue shell hell on its higher difficulties but Racing Transformed felt so much more balanced as a racer rather than combat focused to me. Give or take some odd physics and control quirks but once I got into it I had fun pushing the limits. It was all very difficult though but felt right. Plus the music is good (mostly my favorites remixed) and stages are creative and interesting, so that probably helps me get past its issues.
