Ghost Blade announced for Dreamcast

Things are really looking up for Dreamcast fans this year, what with DUX 1.5 and Sturmwind being released recently. There’s also the announcement of Pier Solar HD coming to the Dreamcast and now, Hucast Games (makers of DUX) has announced another Dreamcast title, Ghost Blade.

Ghost Blade is a scrolling shooter, but unlike DUX this one is vertical scrolling. And it looks like Hucast Games has stepped up its game, because, even in its Alpha stage, the game is looking pretty darn sweet.

There’s a lot of movement on screen, the way the enemies come in to attack isn’t just as simple as coming down the screen at you. You’ll notice how some enemies will rise up from underneath you (from the backdrop) to come in to attack and the backgrounds have more animations than other indie titles.

The game is currently available for pre-order with a three-disc Collector’s Edition, a Limited Edition and the Regular Edition. The release date is still yet to be announced, but it is said to be sometime in 2013.
