Just who are you following on Twitter?

What with Twitter being a relatively new, trendy medium in which to hassle and obsess over your favourite stars (or indeed video game company), Sega has made it just that little bit easier for you to follow them by pointing out which of their Twitter accounts are actually real.
The official SEGA accounts are:
SEGA - Official SEGA community team for Europe and America
sonicgames - Official Sonic The Hedgehog
phantasystar - Phantasy Star
valkyriatribune - Valkyria Chronicles
totalwar - Total War series (Creative Assembly)
TheConduit - The Conduit
FootManLive - Football Manager Live
and si_games for Sports Interactive (Football Manager)
Those are the main accounts, but Sega also has a couple of other accounts they use, including a Shenmue account - which clearly needs a bigger following. Get on it people.
There are also accounts for Virtua Tennis (virtuatennis) and Shenmue (shenmue) but these are not as active, your main ports of call on Twitter for SEGA interaction are going to be @SEGA, @sonicgames and @phantasystar.
So if you are on the Twitter bandwagon, but haven’t been sure if the Sega-related account you’ve been following is real, then just check the above list.
And if you want to follow us, we are also on Twitter - @SegaNerds - because we are just as trendy as Sega.

Review: Virtua Tennis 2009
Posted by Graham. Filed under G, Microsoft Xbox 360, Multi-platform, News, Review. Tagged with Sumo Digital, Tennis, Virtua Tennis, Virtua Tennis 2009.

Even if some of their more recent console games have been less-than-stellar, one of the things that Sega has always been best known for is creating some cracking arcade titles. Virtua Tennis became a much loved franchise, with the first three titles seeing success on both the arcade and console systems.
But with Sega and Sumo Digital’s latest instalment to the series, Virtua Tennis 2009 has completely skipped the arcades and gone direct for the living room experience. So, bearing that in mind, has Sumo Digital managed to keep that arcade fun, while delivering a solid home console experience? Or has the franchise run its course?
Virtua Tennis 2009 delayed till June
Posted by Chris. Filed under Chris, Multi-platform. Tagged with Virtua Tennis, Virtua Tennis 2009.

Originally set to be released this month, Sega has now confirmed that Virtua Tennis 2009 has slipped until June.
“As you may have already noticed, VT2009 has now been pushed back to a June ship date. It’s kind of a bummer as I know everyone is looking forward to the game, but believe me when I say it’s almost always worth it to add an extra level of polish and make sure the game is top-notch, as opposed to shipping early with problems,” Sega forum admin RubyEclipse posted.
She said an exact ship date isn’t ready to be announced, but we should hear something shortly. Frankly, we’re not disappointed at all. I always appreciate it when developers realize a game needs a little more time in the oven, and they take that time to make a better product.

Sega twits about Virtua Tennis
Posted by George. Filed under George, North America. Tagged with Serious Business, twitter, Virtua Tennis.

Sega has been crazy on twitter lately, adding new feeds all the time. They have a Phantasy Star and Valkyria Chronicles feed and just added a Virtua Tennis feed today.
Here is the question, why add a feed to a franchise that had their latest entry in 2007? I wouldn’t be surprised if Sega is cooking up another dose of Virtua Tennis or maybe someone at Sega of America just likes their Tennis video games?
