Sega Deals: Pick up Virtua Fighter 5 for $19.99
Posted by George. Filed under George, Microsoft Xbox 360. Tagged with Sega Deals, Virtua Fighter 5.
AM2’s award winning fighting game can now be picked up for $19.99 at your local Toys R Us or on their online store. I find it funny that they have the Playstation 3 version at full price.
This is one title that every Sega Nerd should have in their extensive Xbox 360 library. You can stack it right next to your copy of Sega Rally Revo.

Virtua Fighter 5 R announced
Posted by George. Filed under Arcade. Tagged with Virtua Fighter 5.
Seems like we just got Virtua Fighter 5 version C, but Sega has just announced Virtua Fighter 5 R. The new ‘expansion’ will add new stages and fighters, one being the long lost Taka-Arashi. This hasn’t been announced for consoles yet, but don’t be surprised if its announced at E3 or TGS.

ATEI 2008 Introduction

A couple of days ago, I informed you all, that I (which would ultimately mean Sega Nerds) would be attending the ATEI 2008 show.
The whole show is dedicated to the different sides of gaming, which includes Slot machines, Pinball machines, Quiz machines and even money counting equipment (for casinos, I would presume). But most importantly, for us, the show also focuses upon Arcade machines.
First things first, before I get onto reviewing the line up of games that Sega had on show, I should point out that this years ATEI felt very different to that of last years. Well different for Sega, at least.

Â
Sega Europe has sent out the word, and the word is that Virtua Fighter 5 shall be receiving a pretty hefty update.
The updates fixes a few minor issues, such as a texture bug, but mostly adds new little features, to make play online just that little bit better.
For the full list and details of the update, here is the official press release:
Finally! The New Years Nerdaway!

Finally it is here! Apologies we had planned to hold it sooner, but… well I won’t fob you off with any excuses, it was held off, it’s here now. That is what matters!
Previously we had teased you with the outline of prizes we had on offer, and now I give you the rules, regulations and (most importantly) the questions, with which you will need to win.
Rules: We have 4 seperate bundles of prizes to give away. Each bundle has a question to go with it. All you need do is choose which of the prizes bundles you would like to try and win, and answer the corresponding question, and then send your answer(s) to us (contact info coming up).
You can enter to win as many of the bundles you want to, however, we will pick the winners for each bundle in order (starting with 4, ending with 1), and should your name be chosen for Bundle 4, you will not be eligeble for any of the other bundles.
So if you really want to win Bundle 1, it could be wise not to enter for all 4 bundles, in case you ‘accidentally’ win a different bundle. But, then again, if you just want to win some Sega gaming goodies, then go ahead and enter for all the bundles!
The full list of prizes and questions coming up after the jump.

Virtua Fighter 5 gets downloadable content
Posted by Chris. Filed under Microsoft Xbox 360. Tagged with Virtua Fighter 5.

The Xbox 360 version of Virtua Fighter 5 just keeps getting better and better than its PlayStation 3 counterpart. Not only did it get the addition of online play and a myriad of other improvements, it’s now receiving its first batch of downloadable content.
Priced at 300 Microsoft Points, the VF5 Item Pack 1 includes three items for each character that include alternate hairstyles, lightplates and other bonus items to further customize your character and make him look like the millions of other emo kids out there.
We’re checking with Sega to see if there are any plans for downloadable content for the PS3 version.
