Old Sega patents found in the depths of the Internet
Posted by Graham. Filed under G, News, Retro. Tagged with Dreamcast, Unreleased, VMU.

A couple of the chaps over at Insert Credit have been browsing through the Google Patent Archives, looking for God knows what, when they stumbled upon some pretty cool, old gaming patents.
Among the companies with the random patents in the Google archives were; Sony, Tomy, Konami, Nintendo and (you guessed it) Sega -Â plus a few more.
It seems that a fair few patents are for unreleased pieces of technology from the various companies, or old (discarded) designs for later released goods.
Take a look at a few of the patents the Insert Credit boys found, after the break.
REZ beta project leaked
Posted by Graham. Filed under G, Retro, Video. Tagged with Downloads, Dreamcast, Fan Sites, Fan Stuff, Rez, Unreleased.
It has only been about 2 months or so since Rez HD made an impact on Xbox Live Arcade, with it’s highly unique and, quite frankly, insane stance on the rail shooter. But any true Sega fan will know that the Dreamcast (and then slightly later the PS2) is where it all started.
But what many don’t know is that Rez was not the first of it’s kind. Before Rez hit our screens the game K-Project was under development, also known as Project Eden and Vibes.
Tons of new Sega Superstars Tennis info
Posted by George. Filed under Microsoft Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, Sony PlayStation 2, Sony PlayStation 3. Tagged with Unreleased.

The last unannounced character in Sega Superstars Tennis has been revealed, and it’s none other than Gilius Thunderhead from Golden Axe. Total Video Games had an interview with the boys at Sumo Digital; here is the interesting information from the interview:
- The game started out as Sonic Tennis, but Sumo Digital wanted to do a Sega tennis game.
- They got feedback from all the original Japanese studios.
- Each character in the game has 150-250 animations. The game is very animation driven.
- Ryo isn’t in the game because he wasn’t “cartoony” enough.
- The PlayStation 2 version won’t be released in Japan.
- They would like to do more Sega Superstars games including a racer or brawler.
- The game was made by a team of 60 people. This includes all the versions.
- They started working on the game after the release of Virtua Tennis 3 port for the Xbox 360.
- The game will feature over 80 minigames!
- No online multiplayer for the Wii version because it was too complicated, and the DS is more flexible in this department.
Gamersyde has posted videos of the mini-games, gameplay, and a interview with Steve Lycett. IGN has posted four gameplay videos for the Xbox 360 version.

This game is looking great. Every time theres a update, it makes me want it more. This time they decided to show off the mini games that will be featured. Space Channel 5.0 coming to Wii
Posted by George. Filed under Nintendo Wii. Tagged with Unreleased.
Looks like Space Channel 5 is set for a comeback. Sega will be remaking the game for the Wii. Developer they have chosen has not been announced but I hope its Q entertainment, since they are doing Rez HD. The only thing we know is the game will feature licensed Michael Jackson music.
This game coming out is not surprising, since it was first made to draw in casual female gamers. Doesn’t get more casual than the Wii, this is the perfect place for the game.
Stay tune for more info as its released
Ulala indeed!

Alex Kidd to be in Sega Superstar Tennis
Posted by George. Filed under Microsoft Xbox 360, Nintendo DS, Nintendo Wii, Sony PlayStation 2, Sony PlayStation 3. Tagged with Unreleased.

There hasn’t been a been a Alex Kidd game in close to eighteen years. This is the grand return of Alex Kidd. I think a lot of Alex Kidd fans would have wanted him to have his own game, but this is better then nothing.
Having Alex Kidd and Beat might make up for having Amy, Eggman, Billy Hatcher and Shadow as playable characters.
Make sure to pick this game up Sega Superstar Tennis upcoming March. The game will be avilible on Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Playstation 2, Nintendo Wii, and the Nintendo DS. Only the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 versions have been confirmed to have online play.

Viking: Battle of Asgard trailer
Posted by George. Filed under Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3, Video. Tagged with Unreleased, Viking Battle of Asgard.
Sega has finally released the trailer for Viking: Battle of Asgard. After all the gory details, its refreshing to see the game actually running. I didn’t know what to think of the screenshots. I think the game looks pretty good running, but I have some concerns.
The game looks sharp for the most part and if it delivers in all its past promises, will be a classic.

The Unforgettable movie gets a director
Posted by George. Filed under News. Tagged with The Unforgettable, Unreleased.
The Unforgettable is a movie based on SEGA’s horror game Condemned Criminal Origins. We wrote to the script writer and he did say that a director will be announced very soon.
Well, it was pretty damn soon. The Director for the film will be Tarsem Singh. He directed The Cell (the movie with Jennifer Lopez).
I admit I never saw The Cell, but always heard positive things.
Though lets hope this doesn’t turn into another House of the Dead incident. Tarsem Singh is no Uwe Boll (thats a good thing). Tarsem Singh has won a award for directing, Commercials actually. But it still counts, sorta.
Whats up with Sega of America wanting to promote a movie with a game or game with a movie? Is this even considered advertising?

Iron Man interview at Comic-Con 07
Posted by George. Filed under George, Interviews, Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3. Tagged with Iron Man, Unreleased.
When I think Comic-Con, I think hot chicks cosplaying and companies pushing their comic book related junk on the public. Well that’s just what Sega did this year with Iron Man and Bleach.
The interview in the video gives us some information about Iron Man. Apparently, Iron Man will be the only playable character (No War Machine). It will integrate the movie plot line with elements from the comic book. Sounds interesting?
I expect this game to get better looking over time, since its still pretty early into development.
