Sega: Buy ThunderForce VI and we’ll make a new Space Harrier

In a recent interview with Edge, Tez Okano, the director of ThunderForce VI, made quite a bold statement in regards to reviving the classic franchise Space Harrier. It seems that if any die-hard fans of the Space Harrier franchise want to see a new title, they will need to buy (and most likely force their friends and neighbours to buy) a copy of the upcoming PS2 shooter, ThunderForce VI.
“I need to demonstrate our approach is viable. But for my next step, I’d really like to work on Space Harrier. This is a unique game in Sega’s history that projected us into some incredible worlds and experiences. But the success of Thunder Force VI is the key to any future projects.”
Sega to hold ThunderForce VI event in Japan

According to the blog Japhei (and the poster they put up - right), Sega is planning on hosting two special events for ThunderForce VI and Donpachi, at the Akihabara Amusement Centre in Tokyo. The lucky people who attend the days will get hands-on play of the games, before they are in stores.
What confuses me here is why both these games are being advertised on the same poster. Sega is publishing Thunder Force VI, and is therefore holding that event, but as far as I am aware Donpachi has nothing to do with Sega, nor is it made/owned by Technosoft (the makers of the ThunderForce franchise). The only link is that they are scrolling shooters.
Anyway, the ThunderForce VI event will be held this coming weekend, on October 26th with the Donpachi event being held a week later on November 2nd.
