That Crucible is a lie, Sega says don’t believe what you’ve seen

A few days ago, a supposed gameplay video of Silicon Knight’s The Crucible leaked to the internet, but it appears it’s not the game the developer is creating for Sega, according to Steve Groll at Sega of America.
“That video is not the game that Silicon Knights is creating for us. I have no idea if it is a game they are working on for someone else, but it’s definitely not the project that Silicon Knights and Sega are producing,” Groll wrote to the MTV Multiplayer blog. “I can’t reveal any info about the game we currently have in development, but I can tell you that it is not titled ‘The Crucible.’ More news about our game coming soon.â€
Several smart Sega Nerds were a bit suspicious of the video since the game is supposed to be more of a survival horror title, and the leaked video looked more like a third-person, team-based hack ‘n’ slash. It seemed things just didn’t add up, so now we get to look forward to seeing what the game really is.
The only thing we really know about the game is that it will appear on the PlayStation 3, but no other announcements have been made for the rest of the platforms.

Rumor: The Crucible to be shown at E3 [Updated]

[Update:Soon after posting, a (supposed) video leak for the game was found. We still aren't sure if this is 100 percent legit, but speculations are pointing that way]
Microsoft’s E3 assets have been leaked online, things like them copying Nintendo’s Mii features and so on. Also leaked along with all the Activison stuff was a mention of The Crucible! Apparently the person that found it didn’t know anything about the game, I don’t blame him! Most Sega Nerds thought this game was dead.
No idea if there is a trailer leaked yet, but I hope there is more info soon. If you haven’t heard of this game yet, its rumored to be a Silicon Knights and Sega horror game.
Hopefully we can bring you more information on the game soon, and perhaps confirm whether this gameplay video is real. Stay tuned!

New Sega PS3 title – The Crucible

Most of you probably don’t remember, but last December, Sega sent me a survey, asking me some pretty strange questions about a possible new horror title under development.
One question in particular described the game’s storyline, and then asked what name would best fit the game. While I voted for The Box, it seems like Sega has named its new title The Crucible, which was also one of the options to select.
After Sony’s announcement of the Dual Shock 3, it has updated its website with titles that will support the new rumble feature, and yes, The Crucible is one of those games.
It looks like Sony stole a bit of Sega’s thunder by letting the official name slip. I guess even when they’re partners, Sony is still out to screw Sega. :)
