The (gay) Club

Sega Europe has recently posted the achievement points, that can be earned on the Xbox 360 version of The Club.

If you’re going to be picking up a copy of The Club on the Xbox 360 when it’s released next month and you’re wondering about the achievements, then wonder no more as we’ve got them all listed here for you. While I feel comfortable being able to unlock the “Sharp Steel” achievement, I’m not so sure about “No, Seriously”.

The list will be coming in a moment, but after I tell you that Sega Europe are also going to be giving away a goodie bag, to the first person to send them a photograph of their achievement screen, showing that they have unlocked the “No, Seriously” acheivement.

It’s not going to be easy, and you’ll see why.  Check the full (extensive) list after the jump, “No Seriously” is at the very bottom…

While Europe got a chance to play The Club demo earlier than the rest of u,s in the United States.  It left some of us wondering if the US would ever get to test one of Sega’s most anticipated games out, before it’s release.  But don’t fear, Sega has posted the new date for the USA release of the demo as January 22nd 2008.

Our Eurpean writers have given us some feedback on the demo already and they seemed fairly impressed.  What with Sega going all out for marketing and a popular studio behind the development, this could be a hit.

The competition is being held over at Gamers World and is sponsored by Sega of Australia. Even though the rules don’t say you have to live in Australia, I’d assume that you would. The competition seems to be for the Xbox 360 version only.  But I can’t find a page of actual rules.

The competition will run all the way through February 5th. So hurry up and register here.

The Club demo impressions (Xbox 360)

The Club Demo

The Club demo was released about 9am GMT this morning, and your two faithful British writers, have been busy trying out the demo, and have written up our demo impressions, just for you.Â

Just to note, these impressions are of the demo only, and our opinion of the full game could differ greatly.

Ryan’s impressions:

I went into the demo for The Club with pretty low expectations, As much as I like and trust the guys at Bizarre Creations I wasn’t really ‘feeling’ The Club. The game sounded good on paper, but from trailer, it didn’t look all that impressive to me. But I really wanted this game to be good.

Now that I have finished the demo my mind has changed… slightly. The best thing about the club is that it’s a refreshing take on the third person shooting genre, dodging bullets and staying alive takes a back seat in the club. Where in a normal third person shooter staying alive is pretty much the aim of the game. The Club is much more of an arcade-like experience.

Nights Wii

Sega has set out several release dates for upcoming games, in Q1 2008.

On the cards is NiGHTS Journey of Dreams, for the Wii (Finally!).  Which is now set for a January 18th release, although several online stores, including GAME, still date it for release on the 25th.  Also set for January 18th is Ghost Squad.

Yet Universe at War: Earth Assualt, has been pushed forward slightly, to a January 25th release, which is actually in place of PSU expansion, Ambition of Illuminus (originally scheduled for 25th), which is now confirmed for a week later.

Released on Febuary 8th, we should see the highly anticipated The Club, plus the DS version of Mario and Sonic Olympics.

Bad news is that Condemned 2: Bloodshot, has been pushed back by two weeks, originally set for a Febuary release, it is now due on March 14th.  Also the game has undergone a slight name change, and the subtitle, “Bloodshot,” has been removed.

PS2 and Wii racer Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity follows on the 22nd, and February 28th sees Bleach hit Wii and DS.

Dated for March 28th, we have Viking Battle for Asgard, and also Sega SuperStars Tennis.

PS3 owners to start Clubbing early in Europe

Thats right, you can now download The Club demo via the Playstation Store. Meaning you will need a Playstation 3 and be a resident somewhere in Europe. Since I fail to fall in both those categories, I’ll whine about it on my personal blog.

So far, there seems to be no indication for a release of the demo on Xbox Live, meaning that PS3 fans get first dibs on the ‘dance floor,’ so to speak ;)

The demo clocks at about 1.7gb’s of pure Bizarre action. The game is slated for release in February of the upcoming year, on the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.

The Club: Learn the rules

YouTube Preview Image

Sega has released a new video showing off some aspects of there upcoming game The Club. The game to me is looking like Gears of War mixed with Crazy Taxi, if that is even possible. This video really made the game look fun to me and I’ll probably get addicted to it, as I did with Crazy Taxi on Dreamcast.

Make sure to check the game out, when it hits store shelves sometime in February. Could make a good Valentine days gift for your significant other.
