The guys over at Joystiq have posted a picture tour through Sega’s TGS booth. If you didn’t get to go to TGS this year (me), I suggest checking it out.
Check out the Sega shirts sold at the event (picture at the bottom of post), wow they look awesome. Do want!

TGS 08: Sonic and the Black Knight screenshots
Posted by Graham. Filed under G, Japan, News, Nintendo Wii, Sonic. Tagged with Screenshots, Sonic and the Black Knight, TGS 08.
Sega Europe has put up a 10 screenshots of Sonic and the Black Knight, which are (apparently) taken from this year’s Tokyo Game Show.
I have to say, that some of them look graphically good for a Wii game, and then others look, well kind of bland. A few of the screens have been shown before (like the one above) but there are some new ones here.Â
Check them out for yourselves, after the break.
TGS 08: World Destruction heading west
Posted by George. Filed under George, Japan, Nintendo DS, North America. Tagged with TGS 08.
Siliconera caught up with Ryoei Mikage (President of Imageepoch) to talk about DS games. He mentioned that they are working on the US version of World Destruction, it will include re-written songs by Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Trigger and Xenogears).
He also said they will be changing the difficulty of the game. I don’t know if its going to be harder or easier, but according to our Japanese forum member, the game is very easy. But I have heard that the game is also uneven, some bosses being easy and some random battles being hard.
Now lets wait for Sega of America to hit us with the release date.

TGS 08: List of upcoming Sega games that will support trophies
Posted by George. Filed under George, Japan, Sony PlayStation 3. Tagged with Bayonetta, Sonic Unleashed, TGS 08, Yakuza 3.

Sony does not require new games to be trophy ready or even to support them (as of now), but the following games are trophy ready on release:
- BayonettaÂ
- Sonic Unleashed
- Yakuza 3
Pretty much their whole line up, just not Valkyria Chronicles or Golden Axe: Beast Riders.
Sega doesn’t tend to patch old games with support for this feature, unlike other studios. But is it worth going through the trouble of updating them? I think this feature is better implemented than 360’s achievements, but then again they had years ahead to copy and change. Better being late than never I guess.

TGS 08: New 2-D Sonic game might be coming to XBLA & PSN
Posted by George. Filed under George, Japan, Microsoft Xbox 360, Sonic, Sony PlayStation 3. Tagged with TGS 08.
Might, as in possibly not. But who knows, I’m sure Sega isn’t blind to the success of Mega Man 9 and Bionic Commando Rearm to ignore the possibilities of a new old school Sonic game or even a remake of the first three. This is what Akinori Nishiyama (producer of Sonic Unleashed) had to say to Kotaku:
“There’s always the possibility. Whether it would be viable remains to be seen, but having a new game - or even a remake of the GBA games, which we now can’t use [thanks to the DSi] - would certainly be possible.”
Remake of GBA games? That is not what I want at all. Try again….
TGS 08: Sega dominates Edge’s top 20 games at TGS
Posted by George. Filed under George, Japan, Microsoft Xbox 360, Nintendo DS, Sony PlayStation 3. Tagged with 7th Dragon, Bleach: Versus Crusade, Infinite Space, Let's Tap, Phantasy Star 0, Phantasy Star Zero, Sonic Unleashed, TGS 08, Yakuza 3.

Sega came into TGS to do one thing, kick ass. If you see their line up, its a pretty beefy , Edge even agrees. They posted a list of the top 20 games at TGS and Sega had more games on the list than any other publisher. When was the last time you saw so many Sega games make a list?
Here are the games that made the list (only Sega games posted):
- 20. Seventh Dragon
- 19. Infinite Space
- 14. Phantasy Star 0
- 12. Sonic UnleashedÂ
- 10. Let’s TapÂ
- 05. Bleach Versus Crusade
- 02. Yakuza 3
- Â [full list!]
Surprises? Mine was that Bleach: Versus Crusade broke into the top 5 and that Bayonetta wasn’t mentioned. I can see Yakuza 3 getting second to Resident Evil 5, due to the fact that Resident Evil 5 playable. What do you guys think?
TGS 08: 20 minutes of Yakuza 3 footage
Posted by Graham. Filed under G, Japan, News, Sony PlayStation 3, Video. Tagged with Gameplay, TGS 08, Trailer, Yakuza 3.
At last years TGS Sega had a special extended preview of Kenzan! (remeber the Yakuza prequel everyone was calling Yakuza 3?), which gave the audience there a good 10 minute (or so) preview of what to expect from the upcoming game. Well this year is no different, except the lucky audience received a 20 minute preview of Yakuza 3. Lucky bastards!
Though someone was kind enough to record the preview, and with the wonders of the Internet, we can all enjoy it.  Lucky us!
Unfortunately, the whole thing is in Japanese, with Japanese writing. So I doubt many of you can understand what’s going on fully. But anyone who has played Yakuza 1 and 2, will likely find the video interesting.  Not only do most of the original cast appear, but there is also a bit of a surprise/spoiler - so if you don’t want to ruin the game’s story too much, perhaps best not to watch it.
TGS 08: Warning - Werehog spotted prowling game show
Posted by Graham. Filed under G, Japan, Multi-platform, News, Sonic, Video. Tagged with Sonic Unleashed, TGS 08, Werehog.
Just a fun post really, the boys at Kotaku have posted up a video of Sonic’s Werehog incarnation, stalking around the Japanese gaming show.
To be honest, I had completely forgotten about the Werehog being in Sonic Unleashed. With all the latest videos, we have only seen the normal hedgehog Sonic action. Always nice to be reminded that the game could have a (potential) downside to it…
Let’s hope the Werehog is worth advertising.

TGS 08: Kotaku get hands-on with Let’s Tap
Posted by Graham. Filed under G, Japan, News, Nintendo Wii, Video. Tagged with Hands on, Let's Tap, Prope, TGS 08.

It may have only been officially revealed a week or so ago, but the game has made it’s debut this year’s Tokyo Game Show and the Kotaku boys have given us their first impressions of the game, with one of the mini-games, “Tap Runner.”
Turns out the Wii remote is surprisingly sensitive at picking up these little taps. Get a bit too excited and you may accidentally jump. But you can also control the height of your jump by smacking the box with varying degrees of intensity.
“Tap Runner” isn’t much more than a track and field style event, full of pits, hurdles, jump pads and electrified orbs. It’s disarmingly fun and up to four players can compete head to head in a series of races (GameSpot’s Brian Ekberg and I ran a quick trio of minute-long sprints.)
The game has a nice graphical style, with “Tap Runner” having a bit of Tron aesthetic.
Check out the rest of their impressions, here.

TGS 08: More Sonic Unleashed Wii footage
Posted by Graham. Filed under G, Japan, News, Nintendo Wii, Sonic, Video. Tagged with Gameplay, Sonic Unleashed, TGS 08.
IGN has got some more footage from the Wii version of Sonic Unleashed
As I said before, I’m impressed with the way the Wii version of the game is looking.
Despite having lower quality textures than the 360/PS3 versions, this game is looking very good for a Wii title. Though there is still an issue of controls. As you can see in the video, a few corners are not taken very well by the player.
Let’s just hope it’s the player getting used to the controls. It would be immensley frustrating if the game’s controls are not tight enough.
IGN has posted three gameplay videos, check out the rest here.
