Daily Mail changes tune about MADWORLD?

Ah you gotta love the British tabloids and their moronic ways. Cast your minds back to August last year, when Mediawatch-UK a ‘pressure group’ in the UK was trying to get MADWORLD banned by the BBFC. The Daily Mail pretty much jumped on board and started stirring the preverbial sh*t, trying to get the message across that this game was too violent for the Wii.
Well it seems that the Daily Mail has had a change of heart on the matter. In the original article they labelled MADWORLD as the ”most violent video game ever,” trying to add to the shock factor of the article. But earlier this month they had another article titled: “It’s game on for this year’s hottest new titles” and guess what’s listed as one of the “hottest new titles“?
You got it. MADWORLD.
Sega in talks with BBFC over MADWORLD controversy

After the recent news that several UK tabloids and pressure groups, have shown their outrage at the levels of (cartoon) violence in MADWORLD, plus the news that Germany is to ban the game outright, Sega has revealed that they are in talks with the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) and Pan-European Gaming Information system (PEGI), in a bid to ensure that the game does see it’s release.
Sega’s David Corless, had this to say on the matter:
“Yes, it’s violent. We don’t try to hide that, but as publishers, we see it as a fantasy game - it’s fantasy violence. It’s over the top. It’s cartoony. We also take the violence very seriously. We are working with the age rating boards, with PEGI and with BBFC.
Media morons bid to ban MADWORLD

MADWORLD could be banned in the United Kingdom, thanks to “pressure group” Mediawatch-UK, reports the Daily Mail.
MADWORLD, has not yet received an age rating, and Mediawatch is hoping that the ‘powers-that-be’ don’t rate the game - meaning that it would not be allowed to be sold in the UK.
A lot of the anger has arisen because some people see the Wii as just a kids-only gaming system. True, it has more kid-oriented games, but it is not meant to be just for kids - it’s ‘kid-friendly’ and it seems certain people are forgetting that people older than 15 own the system as well.
