Valkyria Chronicles gets a yaoi manga

I’ll be totally honest, I didn’t know what yaoi was for the longest time. But one day I was clicking random links and I found out the hard way. Yaoi mangas usually deal stories involving homosexual relationships, some include explicit images. [more info]
Sega’s upcoming SRPG, Valkyria Chronicles will have a yaoi manga adaption very soon. The story for the manga involves a experienced sniper named Julius Klose and a shy boy engineer named Mintz. How very romantic.

Sega announces Blazer Drive RPG

Sega announced the Blazer Drive RPG for the Nintendo DS a few days ago. The game will be developed by Sega and will be based on the green friendly manga of the same name. If you haven’t heard of the manga before, its written by Seishi Kishimoto, twin brother of the guy that writes Naruto.
Blazer Drive’s main character is Daichi, who in the start of the manga finds out his a Blazer. A Blazer is a person that can control Mystickers. Mystickers are stickers that give the user elemental power. Theres different types and in the game you’ll have the ability to use them before starting a battle. The battles will be turn based. Game is due out this winter in Japan, no dates announced yet for the western world. The manga for this series started on April 4th of this year, so don’t be surprised if you find it in your local Borders sooner or later.

Vyse and Aika playable in Valkrie Chronicles

Vyse and Aika from the cult favorite Skies of Arcadia are playable in the upcoming Valkyrie of the Battlefield: Gallian Chronicles. This game has been getting alot of hype and with SEGA confirming its localization in the west it makes me wish it was fall already.
This game has a impressive development team. Its director is Shuntaro Tanaka (Skies of Arcadia), music composed by Hitoshi Sakimoto (Radiant Silvergun and Final Fantasy Tactics), and is produced by Toshihiro Nagoshi (Yakuza and Super Monkey Ball). I have to say this is a pretty good team.
To add to Sega of Japan’s latest trends, this game will have a manga. The manga is going to be illustraded and written by Kitou En. The manga will start print in Comp Ace magazine starting on May 26, 2008.

World Destruction a new RPG for the DS

This game will be published by Sega and developed by Image Epoch. The game will feature music from Yasunori Mitsuda (Xenogears and Chrono Trigger), scenarios written by Masato Kato (Xenogears and Chrono Trigger) , characters designed by Kunihiko Tanaka (Xenosaga Episode I), produced by Youichi Shimosato (Shining Tears), and directed by Ryoei Mikage (Luminous Arc and Disgaea 2).
The story is typical RPG story. You play as a kid named Kirie. You hold a destructive power and don’t know why. Also in the game, a young female named Morte. She is a part of a terrorist organization plotting to destroy the world. Well that connected the two characters nicely. Gameplay will be turn-based with fighting game elements.
There will also be a anime and manga based on the show. That is going to come out in July 2008. Game is suppose to be out summer 2008.
