Sonic voted the UK’s favourite gaming icon

Despite many of his more recent titles being widely regarded as crap games, Sonic the Hedgehog still holds a big place in the hearts of gamers in the UK, it seems.
Leading up to this year’s London Games Festival (starting this Friday - 24th), a poll was held to find out which gaming character was the best, and Sonic came top place, with nearly a quarter of all votes going to our blue, spikey, speed-freak.
To be honest I’m not sure how the voting was held, or how “official” it all is, but it’s always great to see Sonic win something.

Guinness to hold record breaking Cosplay event… again

You may recall us talking about a Cosplay world record attempt earlier this year in London.  While that was indeed a record breaker, there perhaps wasn’t quite as many people as the organisers had hoped for. 80 people turned up, dressed as various gaming icons.
80 might sound like a small number for a record attempt, but it was done (quite stupidly) on a weekday, when kids were still at school and it was freezing cold. So 80 people isn’t all that bad under the circumstances.
Now the record shall be attempted once again, this time it will take place on a Saturday, and at a proper gaming event, the London Games Festival.
