E3 2008: Infinite Space

So it seems that Infinite Line, from Platinum games, has now been given it’s official name - Infinite Space.
At the original press conference, Infinite Line, was one game that the company did not talk much about - and could only show us a few early development screens.
Well not too much has changed there, we still only have a few concept pieces - three ships from the game.
But Sega has revealed some juicy details on the game’s premise. More details after the break.
Infinite Line developer used to make erotic PC games

Unlike the rest of the writers here I don’t follow erotic PC games, so I didn’t know Nude Maker used to do erotic games. Though it is a fitting name now, but still doesn’t explain why Infinite Line doesn’t look sexy ….
Nude Maker’s Hifumi Kouno tries to explain why hes an artist and not a pervert.
I won’t take this lightly. I do not feel that there’s a big difference in my thinking between standard adult titles and consumer titles. We don’t have the idea that we’re really shifting gears as such… Generally, people looked down on adult titles just because they’re adult titles. But this is just one genre that I want to experiment in as a game designer — just one avenue for my creativity.
First Infinite Line screenshots

Infinite Line is one of the four games to be developed by Platinum Games. This one will be heading towards the Nintendo DS. Little is known about this game, but by some of the screenshots it seems that it will have you upgrading your ship a lot. Weirdly enough, it doesn’t appear very “artistic” like the team’s past games. I think it sorta looks generic, but it’s hard to tell with only three screenshots.
So we already know Sega is happy with the deal, but how do you feel? Do you think Infinite Line can be a big success? Are you looking forward to it?
I’m more interested in Mad World.
Sega officially announces deal with Platinum Games

While many publications (including Sega Nerds) were happy enough to adhere to the strict embargo during Sega’s press event earlier this week, it seems others couldn’t hold themselves - all eyes turn to EuroGamer. The gaming news site apparently published a live feed from the event, even as it was announced that cameras were prohibited, and with Sega reps walking around asking people to kindly not take footage, so no excuse (other than being rather wily).
Anyway, since the reports have been leaked and rumoured since the original announcement, this article might feel a bit lack lustre for some of you. But we shall persevere, as we have the full details on the announcement, and can confirm/deny any of the rumours that have been thrown around.
On with the report.
