Empire: Total War soundtrack coming out June 30th

If you where one of the million gamers that can’t get enough Empire: Total War, well you might be in luck. Sumthing Else Music Works has announced that they will be releasing the Empire: Total War soundtrack, in both physical and digital copies. The retail version will be sold through sumthing.com, while the digital version will be up at sumthingdigital.com and iTunes.
Richard Beddow, the composer and producer for the soundtrack put in a ton of work and thought into how to get the music just right.
“Undertaking the challenge of the music production for Empire: Total War was no simple task,” said composer Richard Beddow. “The game needed music to convey its size and breadth, covering the various countries at war, delicately accompanying campaign gameplay and underpinning the various cinematics and events in the game.”
The games music was performed by The Slovak National Symphony Orchestra at the Slovak Radio Concert Hall in Bratislava. Got to say, I love that Creative Assembly games get soundtrack releases in the west. Can we now ask for a Valkyria Chronicles soundtrack (outside of Japan)?

In random celebration of the best working day of the week, Friday, Sega Europe is planning on giving away a few prizes via Twitter.
What you see above is the selection of prizes that will be on offer tomorrow, Friday 24th April. Unfortunately it’s not one big prize bundle, but rather the prizes will be given to seperate winners - which is still pretty sexy.
During the day, (probably between 2pm and 3pm), Sega will post a Twitter update giving out a question. The first person to respond with the correct answer will win.
[Update] Sega will no longer ask a question - instead they will post an announcement (via Twitter still) and all you have to do is be the first to respond, telling them that you want said prize.
Excited? More info after the break.
Empire: Total War dominates PC charts
Posted by George. Filed under George, North America, PC. Tagged with Empire: Total War, NPD Sales Charts.

Empire: Total War was number one in the latest NPD PC sales charts (ending March 21st), meaning it was in retail, not counting digital downloads. If that wasn’t enough, the title was number two on Steam (ending on April 2nd) , while on Direct2Drive digital download charts it only got number 6 (ending on March 28th).
So Empire: Total War continues its all around ass kicking, I’ll be trying to save pennies for a new graphics card. Those water effects look so nice!

Empire tops the UK multi-format chart
Posted by Graham. Filed under Europe, G, News, PC. Tagged with Empire: Total War, Multi-Platform Charts, Number One, The Creative Assembly, Top 40, Total War, UK Charts.

Sega and The Creative Assembly’s latest addition to the Total War franchise, Empire: Total War, has topped the UK multi-format chart in its first week. In fact, as the game was released last Wednesday (in the UK), the game didn’t even receive a full weeks worth of sales.
Possibly the most impressive thing about this is that Empire: Total War knocked Sony’s Killzone 2 from its perch, denying the PS3-exclusive a second week at number one. Empire also beat down other big-hitting titles such as; Wii Fit, Halo Wars, Street Fighter IV and Tom Clancy’s: Hawx.
This is also the first time that a PC-exclusive title has reached the number one position in the Top 40 since Sega’s other big PC franchise, Football Manager 2008, did it way back in 2007.
Sega also saw success in the UK charts with; Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection (11), Mario & Sonic Olympics (17), Football Manager 2009 (27) and House of the Dead: Overkill (32).

Empire: Total War Collector’s Edition packaging is impressive
Posted by George. Filed under Europe, George, News, PC. Tagged with awesome, Collector's Edition, Empire: Total War, Packaging.

This seems to be the Australian version of Empire: Total War Collector’s Edition and the package looks amazing. I’m not a huge Total War fan, but I would buy this!
On the other hand, the American (and Europe) version of the “Collector’s Edition” is not as awesome looking (at least not on the GameStop website). But you do get a free copy of Rome: Total War.
The game is out today in Europe and America, and comes out tomorrow for Australian gamers.
