Halloween Nerdaway: Winners announcement
Posted by Graham. Filed under G, News. Tagged with Contest, Halloween Nerdaway, House of the Dead, Overkill, Winners.

It’s time for us to announce the winners of our Halloween Nerdaway. But before we do, we have a bit of an extra surprise. Now, the more observant of you might think there is a mistake in that title, as we originally listed that the winner would win a House of the Dead: Overkill press kit and a limited edition t-shirt.
But you’d be wrong. It seems that Sega likes us so much, that they are in fact going to give out two sets of the original prize listed, which means we will have two winners for the contest! So another big thank you to Sega Europe for doubling the prizes, and for being so damn sexy.
Without further ado, I shall reveal our two winners of the “House of the Dead caption contest.”
Last day for Halloween Nerdaway

That’s right, this is the final reminder for the Halloween Nerdaway, aka House of the Dead Caption Contest. The contest closes at midnight tonight - we’ll be going with midnight for the West coast of America, to give everyone a chance to enter.
In case you missed the other two posts, all you have to do is think up a funny caption for the above image and you can either send us an email, (seganerds@gmail.com) or leave a comment on any of the contest posts (including this one) with your caption.
All we need is your caption right now, once we announce the winner, we will ask him/her for any extra details needed. For more information on the contest, check here.
Good luck to all entrants!
[Update] Win a Dreamcast bundle (but not with us)
Posted by Graham. Filed under G, News, Retro. Tagged with Centipede, Contest, Crazy Taxi, Dreamcast, Kiss: Psycho Circus, Recycled Gaming, Soul Calibur.

Unfortunately we are not having a contest to win a Dreamcast bundle (though the idea has certainly come up a few times), but the retro-website Recycled Gaming is holding a Dreamcast contest. Full details on how to enter are yet to be announced, but the prize has been revealed, and it is a pretty good one.
Participants will be in with a chance of winning a pretty decent Dreamcast bundle featuring:
- Dreamcast console (with cables - handy)
- Two Sega Dreamcast controllers
- One official VMU
- Four games: Soul Calibur, Crazy Taxi, Centipede and Kiss: Psycho Circus
- Official Dreamcast carry case (not in picture)
I’d say that is a pretty cool prize for any Sega Nerd. Especially if you haven’t got a Dreamcast yet - it is a very good starting point. Plus, you know, it’s free.
[Update:] The contest has now started folks, all you need do is answer five questions - all of which should be very easy for any true Sega Nerd ;o) So check it out, and good luck!
Be sure to check back at Recycled Gaming over the next couple of days, when the full contest details should be announced.

Sega Europe gives away iPod Nanos in two Samba De Amigo contests

That’s right, Sega Europe has launched not one, not three, but two contests to help celebrate the release of Samba De Amigo.
The first contest is being held on the official European Samba sites (minus Italy, for some reason). Entrants need to answer a multiple choice question, regarding gaming’s favourite simian percussionist to win a funky, little iPod Nano.

GAME asks for your favourite game of all time
Posted by Graham. Filed under Europe, G, News. Tagged with Contest, GAME.

UK based retailer GAME is asking anybody and everybody to vote for their favourite video game of all time. Unlike a lot of ‘Best Ever’ votes where you have to choose from a list of crappy over-rated games, you actually get to name any game ever made. Which is pretty cool.
I think it would be a good idea to take this opportunity and try to get a Sega developed (or published) title in that number one position, or at least in the top ten list.
Well now Sega Nerds, it would be a great time for all you NiGHTS, Outrun, Streets of Rage, Guardian Heroes and Panzer Dragoon (plus all the rest) nuts to come out of the closet and get voting!
