Captain S Kick

It seems that our friends over at PBC Productions Inc. have decided that this summer will be a good time to commence filming the second season of “The New Adventures of Captain-S.

Unfortunately we still need to wait a little bit longer, as the show hasn’t even started production yet. Here’s what the guys had to say on their homepage:

“We get e-mails almost every day asking about the future of Captain S. We’re still not sure how to answer the question of WHEN, but we are in the thick of pre-production. Episodes are being written, and we’re attempting to secure funding. To help us in that area, we’ve brough [sic] Ivy Hong on board as our sponsorship co-ordinator. We hope to begin filming this summer. Like season one, season two will be found exclusively on screwattack.com. “

We were treated to the 10 episode-long (or short) first season well over a year ago now, with the last episode coming out May 2007. And quite frankly I just wish that the second season could have come sooner. I loved the original episodes, very cheesey, tacky and all round brilliant!

Let’s hope the guys (and girls) can get the funds together and make the show as good as the original season.

Unite Sega Nerds, NES needs our help!

He’s better known to many of you as the vile NES on the New Adventures of Captain S. On the show, it sometimes seemed as if he had no weakness, however, Devon Riley, NES’ real-life counterpart, isn’t quite as indestructible.

He was recently hospitalized for emergency abdominal surgery. Thankfully, it looks like our friend will come through. However, the hospital bills have mounted up, and while Devon will recover, it will take a much longer time for his wallet to do the same. In his honor, the PBC Productions crew has lit the Beacons of Gondor, calling for help throughout the interwebs.

If you’d like to help Devon out, you can contribute cash to the Love For Devon fund. We’ve made our contribution, and if you’ve enjoyed the Captain S series as much as we have and are a kind and decent person, you might consider it, too.

PBC Productions wishes Sega Nerds a Merry Christmas

After being spurned by Sega of America by not receiving a Christmas card, it appears I’m officially on its naughty list. Perhaps it was my Golden Compass review. However, that doesn’t mean no one was thinking of me and the rest of the crew this holiday season.

Our friends at PBC Productions, which are behind the great Captain S, sent us a Christmas card recently. Because I live in the dark and furthest reaches of the world (also known as Guam), it didn’t arrive until today.

Unlike all the other Christmas cards we received from our families, PBC’s is 100 percent original and homemade, and we wouldn’t expect anything less from those awesome guys. Thanks for the card, and we hope you have a very successful year in 2008!

It’s been awhile since we heard anything out of the Captain S camp, but our good friend has just posted a new blog on his Myspace page announcing that the first season of the Captain S series will soon make its way to DVD.

OK S fans. You’ve asked for it, and now it’s only a few weeks away. That’s right, the release of season one on DVD. We’ll be premiering the 2 disc volume at MAGFest on January 3rd, 2008 along with the re-mastered Glenn Case soundtrack, and a brand new NES/Game Genie themed t-shirt.

Sounds awesome. We’re especially excited about the Glenn Case soundtrack. He’s the same guy who composed the Nerdcast’s opening song and is responsible for all the great music in the Captain S series. So far, there doesn’t seem to be a link where we’ll be able to purchase the DVD, but we expect them to be available via PBC Production’s online store.

It seems like our favorite Sega hero just never quits. Now that Captain S and the Angry Video Game Nerd have saved Christmas, they have released the episode’s blooper reel.

Not only do you get to see some cool behind-the-scenes action of how the show is produced, we also finally get to see Chad’s face, the man who originally created Captain S and who plays the evil Game Genie.

We’re still waiting for a Captain S season 2. Keep your fingers crossed, my fellow nerds.

OMG! Can you believe this? I can’t believe what I have just witnessed. Captain S has a new hairstyle!!!

Oh ho, ho, ho! Actually, the real news here is our favorite Sega hero is teaming up with every shitty videogame’s arch nemesis - the Angry Video Game Nerd - to save Christmas. While it may be tad early to start talking about Christmas since its still summer in most parts of the world, I guess it’s never too early to start planning for its salvation.

I mean has there ever been a Christmas that hasn’t needed saving? Let’s take a quick look who has already saved my favorite holiday (P.S. It’s also my birthday!)

The full video should be released later this month, so keep checking out the official site here.

Captain S goes to anime convention, hilarity ensues

It’s so great to see our good friend Captain S out in the city meeting the good people he saved from the vile NES. He descended from his castle high in the heavens to attend the Anime Mid-Atlantic that was held in Richmond, Virginia last week.

If you didn’t know already, cosplayers are some fu*king weird people. We see a guy dressed as a cat sitting in a box by himself, Dick Gumshoe who openly admits he’ll never know the touch of a woman, Luigi who’s already talking trash about Sonic’s performance in Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games and even a Captain S cosplayer. Who knew they were out there?

Later in the day, the PBC Productions crew held a screening for the attending Captain S fans. While they were a small group, they were dedicated and seemed pretty excited.

Keep on rolling Captain S, keep on rolling.

Captain S - Season One - Finale

So it comes down to this. We have some good news and some bad news.

Good news: Another Captain S episode is up! Hoorah!

Bad News: It’s the last Captain S episode…

Now whether it is is the last one ever, or just of the season, we still do not know.  We had Brett Vanderbrook (Captain S) and Devon Riley (NES) on our Nerdcast, a couple of weeks ago, and they told us that whether show will continue or not, after this episode, is still up in the air.  Finger crossed though guys.

For now sit back, relax and enjoy the (season) finale of the brilliant Captain S show.  And be sure to check out our site name in the credits… and also the extra bit after the credits.

For more information on the show, and the great people behind it, please visit PBC Productions, and don’t forget to buy a T-Shirt.
