7th Dragon - characters trailer
by rawmeatcowboy

Following on from some of the character concept art we showed you a few days ago, Sega Japan has released a new trailer for their upcoming DS RPG title, 7th Dragon.

The trailer shows a little bit of FMV (possibly straight from the game), some different environments, and the different character classes the game will feature.

I’m still unsure about this title, it looks like a fairly standard J-RPG, which isn’t such a bad thing.  But there doesn’t seem to be anything that really grabs my attention from looking at the screens and brief clips we have seen so far.

If you want to check out more screens and details on the game, take a look at the official site.

New 7th Dragon screenshots and artwork

Sega has released some new screens and artwork for their upcoming DS RPG 7th Dragon. The game got us all hot and bothered due to having both Rieko Kodama and Yuzo Koshiro involved.

I have to admit, the artwork really turned me off. It has the average anime underage girls with camel toes, a boy with sleeves (but no shirt type thing) and a burly man with one sleeve missing. I don’t know why the Japanese draw people with weird clothing, but I think its really lame.

Sega came into TGS to do one thing, kick ass. If you see their line up, its a pretty beefy , Edge even agrees. They posted a list of the top 20 games at TGS and Sega had more games on the list than any other publisher. When was the last time you saw so many Sega games make a list?

Here are the games that made the list (only Sega games posted):

Surprises? Mine was that Bleach: Versus Crusade broke into the top 5 and that Bayonetta wasn’t mentioned. I can see Yakuza 3 getting second to Resident Evil 5, due to the fact that Resident Evil 5 playable. What do you guys think?

If you haven’t seen Sega’s full TGS line up, then here it is. It appears that Sega decided not to put Prope’s game, apparently the system it will appear on is still a secret (cough Wii cough).

Being a big fan of free stuff, I could not help post the (so far) confirmed list of free Sega swag that will be given away at TGS.

The problem with going to TGS is that it feels like you are playing Dead Rising in real life, everything is timed! But thanks to Sega releasing their time schedule, we can be at their booths at the right times with extra drool.

The events will be broadcast live at Sega’s TGS site (all besides 428 and Project Diva). There will be a booth with games not on the list, that didn’t get a showing. This list is also missing surprises like Prope’s new game and a secret unannounced game (this game should be shown on the net in the next couple of days via Famitsu).

Famitsu magazine finally hit Japan and Duckroll from Neogaf has posted the contents of the magazine. Here is a summary of the info for 7th Dragon:

Doesn’t seem like the game will have an epic story, at least not right now. The game is set to hit Japan this upcoming spring. At least the music is sounding awesome, right guys?

Sega leaked the name first, then Famitsu decided to leak us some info. I think they like us, because are always craving new info on 7th Dragon.

If you can’t read Japanese (like myself), the text in the picture is a preview of what the game is. This is what it says

Seventh Dragon is a brand new work from Kazuya Niinou the creator of Sekaijuu no Meikyu, reviving the 3D dungeon RPG genre. It is a brand new refreshing RPG set in a world where humans and dragons are at odds, while the flowers of oblivion called the Furowaro are flooding the land.”

Sounds like it could be interesting. It is not an S-RPG like most people assumed when we got that one image off of Sega’s site.

Sega’s mystery RPG is called 7th Dragon

Sega has just put up a list of its TGS line up, and in it is its new RPG with Kodama Rieko and Yuzo Koshiro . Its called 7th Dragon - not a remake of an old game. It also happens to be for the DS because that handheld is obviously lacking RPGs (joke).

Mystery over; now we wait for trailers and in game screenshots.  Then, hopefully the announcement that it’s coming to the West.
