[Update: For some reason we can't seem to prevent the file from automatically playing, so we have embedded the podcast after the break]
The Sega America and Sega Europe online community teams (names I’m sure some of you will recognise) have teamed up together to create this lovely little podcast.
The podcast is only 15 minutes long, and in this ‘episode’ they chat with Patrick Riley, Sega of America’s producer for Sonic Unleashed about the upcoming Sonic title. It’s a pretty interesting listen and it might just answer some questions you have about the game.
Phantasy Star Universe expansion gets a price drop

Did you skip buying the expansion Phantasy Star Universe: Ambition of the Illuminus? If you’re an Xbox 360 owner you are in luck because Sega just dropped the price of the expansion, it now costs only 800 Microsoft points.
Even though you don’t get the single player experience that came with the PC/PS2 version, you will still get all the online goodies. The game comes jam packed with six player co-op action, 25 new missions, 5 new bosses, and over 100 new weapons and items.
You will still need to have the original disk of Phantasy Star Universe and a guardians license to play the expansion pack.

Review: Dinosaur King
Posted by Graham. Filed under G, News, Nintendo DS, Review. Tagged with Anime, Dinosaur King.

My only contact with the Dinosaur King world was playing the kiddie arcade title at ATEI 2007, but that didn’t do much to explain the story or anything about the franchise. From what I have been told, it is a little bit like Pokemon/DigiMon, with kids using dinosaurs to fight instead of random cute creatures.
But I was ready and willing to step up and check out the DS title, and see what all the fuss is about.
First Sonic Unleashed review from British newspaper
Posted by Hudson. Filed under Europe, Hudson, Microsoft Xbox 360, News, Sonic. Tagged with Sonic Unleashed.

In a strange, strange, extraordinarily strange reversal of coverage trends, the first Sonic Unleashed review to hit the ‘net comes to us from Tom Higgins at Telegraph.co.uk- the Web site for one of Britain’s national newspapers, The Daily Telegraph.
That’s right. A newspaper beat 1up, IGN, and all the other games journalism giants to the punch. What’s more, it’s a review of the Sonic Team-developed Xbox 360 version that’s not due for release until Nov. 28 in Europe.
Most impressive of all? It’s well organized, insightful and gives plenty of context to demonstrate that Mr. Higgins knows damn well what he’s talking about.
So go on, give it a read! As you might expect, it sounds like Sonic Team still can’t leave a good core concept well enough alone.

Swastika spotted in Sonic Unleashed?
Posted by Graham. Filed under G, Microsoft Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, Sony PlayStation 2, Sony PlayStation 3. Tagged with Holoska, Sonic Unleashed, Swastika.
German-based website, Sega Portal, has spotted something rather controversial in the Holoska level of Sonic Unleashed, a Swastika!
Even though the symbol in the picture is a little blurry (click for full size), it’s hard to deny that it looks remarkably like the symbol.
But, before everyone goes off raving about “Nazi’s” and “World War II,” you have to remember that the Swastika has been used for nearly 3,000 years in hundreds of cultures across the world, and the symbol has many different meanings, including; life, sun, power, strength, welfare, prosperity and good luck.
The Nazi party was not the first group of people to use the symbol, nor were they the first group to use the symbol in Europe, (depsite what some might think).
Sonic Unleashed: Wii and PS2 versions have less levels
Posted by George. Filed under George, Microsoft Xbox 360, Multi-platform, Nintendo Wii, North America, Sonic, Sony PlayStation 2, Sony PlayStation 3. Tagged with getting screwed, short changed, Sonic Unleashed.

A recent scan of Sonic Unleashed‘’s strategy guide for the Wii and PS2 shows us that these versions of the game won’t be getting two levels included in the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions. Those two levels are Empire City and Mazuri.
Check out the content listed from the strategy guide below, though I swear I have read about this a few months ago. Am I imagining things?

Rumor: Sega making a new Outrun with THQ?
Posted by George. Filed under George, Multi-platform, Worldwide. Tagged with outrun, outrun online, rumor.

Australia’s Office of Film & Literature Classification board has issued ratings for Outrun Online. The title was listed as a multi-platform release.
That isn’t the shocking part, it seems they have Sega listed as publisher and THQ as the author and producer. Maybe Sega is letting THQ use some of their old IPs?
I hope not. This isn’t the first time THQ has made and published some old Sega IPs, they have released several on the Gameboy Advance, like Crazy Taxi.

Proper clubs now looking to Football Manager for help
Posted by Graham. Filed under Europe, G, News, PC, Sony PSP. Tagged with Everton, FM2009, Football Club, Football Manager 2009, Worldwide Soccer Manager.
It has been mentioned in the past that several top-flight English Football teams regard the Football Manager franchise as some of the best and most realistic representations of managment, in games.
Now that idea has been taken one step further as Premiership team, Everton has signed a deal, with Sega and Sports Interactive, which will officially allow the club manager, David Moyes, and his backroom staff unrivalled access to the player database of Football Manager 2009.
Review: PictoImage

You might have missed the launch of PictoImage, or maybe even the fact that the game ever existed. But the more observant of you might (vaguely) remember me talking about a brief hands-on play I had with the game at TGS 2007.
Unfortunately, my hands-on experience was lacking, due to the huge amount of Japanese that was needed to play the game at all. I had a little help from one of the (hot) Sega booth babes, but that didn’t help too much. So instead I watched on, as everyone who could read Japanese had all the fun.
The game was released in Japan a while ago, and finally made its way to western shores, so I now get to experience the full fun of the game that I missed in Tokyo. Or do I?
Some new MADWORLD screens
Posted by George. Filed under George, Nintendo Wii. Tagged with awesome, bloody, MadWorld, Screens.

Some of these screens are old, but I decided to just post them all, in case some of you missed them. MADWORLD has already been used as an example of how violence in games can be bad for kids and its not even out. I don’t think the new screens will help the situation.
