Bringing back the “What are you playing this weekend” feature, but with a slight change. Rather than asking the question on the Friday before you play the game(s), we are now asking after the weekend - which frankly makes much more sense.
It’s just for fun really, we tell you what games we have been playing - give some brief opinions on them, and then you can tell us what you have been playing too. You could help people avoid some potentially bad titles, or suggest some unknown gems.
Whatever the case let us know; What did you play this weekend?

Sunday Night Question: What do you think of the canceled VectorMan game?
Posted by George. Filed under George, North America, Retro, Sony PlayStation 2. Tagged with Canceled, Don't call it a comeback, Sunday Night Question, Vectorman.
Back in 2003, Sega decided to try and bring VectorMan back from its grave on the Playstation 2. The game would be done without BlueSky Software and seem like a run of the mill 3rd person shooter.
The footage above is from an early build, after it was canceled. You can tell that the game changed from the first two a lot, some would even say it looks a bit Halo-ish. People say that the game was canceled due to it being criticized for departing too much from the original games, also 2003 is a weird time in Sega history, due to lack of funds and mergers being discussed.
What do you guys think of this game, dud or awesome?
Sega Deals: Amazon selling Sonic Unleashed below budget price!
Posted by George. Filed under George, Microsoft Xbox 360, News, Nintendo Wii, North America, Sonic, Sony PlayStation 2. Tagged with Budget, Sega Deals, Sonic Unleashed.

Amazon’s deal of the day is a reduced price on Sonic Unleashed for every platform besides the Playstation 3.
- Xbox 360 version: $25.98
- Nintendo Wii version: $25.98
- Playstation 2 version: $14.98
So the title sort of lied, the Wii version isn’t below budget price since budget price on the Wii would be $20, but who is going to buy the Wii version anyway?

Important changes to Sega’s Free Stuff Friday
Posted by Graham. Filed under Europe, G, Microsoft Xbox 360, News, Nintendo Wii, North America, PC, Retro, Sony PSP, Sony PlayStation 2, Sony PlayStation 3, Worldwide. Tagged with Contest, Giveaway, Prizes, twitter, update.

Yesterday we reported that Sega Europe and Sega America would be holding regular prize giveaways each Friday via Twitter, starting today. That has not changed, but there have been two significant changes to the way the giveaway is being done.
1. Each week SoE and SoA will alternate the prize giveaways. Originally we were told that when SoE hosted the contest, the prizes would only be available to Europe and Australia. This has changed. Whether it be SoE or SoA hosting the giveaway, the prizes are available to everyone, Worldwide each week. So US citizens can enter SoE’s prize draw today.
2. We were also told that for each prize Sega would post a queson via Twitter. This is no longer the case either, instead Sega has decided to make it easier. Sega will post a Twitter update and the first person to directly respond to the update will win the prize.
So all you need to do now is watch out for Sega’s update which will probably be something like; “Enter to win the Valkyria Chronicles art book now,” and you just need to reply with “I’d like the Valkyria Chronicles art book, please.”
Just make sure you are following Sega on Twitter and watch out for the obvious prize draw updates.
[Update] Get ready for SoE’s Free Stuff Friday on Twitter

In random celebration of the best working day of the week, Friday, Sega Europe is planning on giving away a few prizes via Twitter.
What you see above is the selection of prizes that will be on offer tomorrow, Friday 24th April. Unfortunately it’s not one big prize bundle, but rather the prizes will be given to seperate winners - which is still pretty sexy.
During the day, (probably between 2pm and 3pm), Sega will post a Twitter update giving out a question. The first person to respond with the correct answer will win.
[Update] Sega will no longer ask a question - instead they will post an announcement (via Twitter still) and all you have to do is be the first to respond, telling them that you want said prize.
Excited? More info after the break.
Phantasy Star Portable launch event taking place in Phantasy Star Universe
Posted by George. Filed under George, Microsoft Xbox 360, News, North America, PC, Sony PSP, Sony PlayStation 2. Tagged with Events, Items, Phantasy Star Portable, Phantasy Star Universe.

Sega will be holding a Phantasy Star Portable launch event tomorrow (March 6th) in all versions of Phantasy Star Universe. In the event you will have to help Vivienne, who is a lead story character for Phantasy Star Portable. So hang around Clyez City on March 6th.
She will ask you for your help to hunt down a suspected terrorist by the name of Helga Neumann and give you (and your party) clues as you search.
What do you get for doing this? You get two exclusive prizes: A Real hand gun + and a Moatoob collectible that happens to be a room item. You can invite someone over to see it in your room, maybe slip into something more comfy?
The event will take place throughout the day, even better, Sega posted what time they will take place, so hit the jump to see that!

Yakuza heat moves all over Amazon
Posted by George. Filed under George, Multi-platform, PC, Sony PSP, Sony PlayStation 2, Sony PlayStation 3, Worldwide. Tagged with Charts, Footbal Manager Handheld 2009, Football Manager 2009, Shining Wind, Yakuza, Yakuza 2, Yakuza 3, Yakuza Kenzan!.

Gamautra does articles on how games sell across the world, sadly they only get Amazon sales. I would have liked them to show how many units the games sold too, but something is better than nothing.
The biggest shocker of all is that Yakuza 2 came in 2nd place on the Playstation 2 charts in America. Probably has something to do with the sale a few days ago. Yakuza 3 was obviously came in 1st for the Playstation 3 Japanese charts, that was a given. We also see Yakuza Kenzan! rechart at number 4. Though Japanese people have also made Yakuza 2 chart in at 2nd and Yakuza (the first one) in 4th place. That is alot of Yakuza!
Other Sega games that placed? Shining Wind Fan Festa for PC in Japan came in first (in the PC charts), while the UK bought a bunch of Football Manager Handheld 2009 copies on their PSP because that came in 1st on the PSP charts. Football Manager 2009 also had a charting postion for the PC charts in the UK, but it came in 2nd.

[Update] Sega Deals: Get Yakuza 2 for 15 bucks!
Posted by George. Filed under George, North America, Sony PlayStation 2. Tagged with Sega Deals, worth it, Yakuza 2.
Amazon is having their Gold Box Event for Playstation 2 games today. They set times for game deals, don’t tell you what games the deals will be on, but do give you clues. I was going to make a post that it could have been Yakuza 2 based on the clue, but didn’t want to be wrong!
The clue is: “Scarier than the Italian mafia.” I wonder what it is? Buy it and feel what it is like to be a dragon.
Not sure if you would like it? Check out our review.
[Update: The deal has been claimed 100% in only 1 hour and 2 minutes. You can still get the game for Amazon's regular price of 19.99.]
