TGS 08: More Sonic Unleashed Wii footage

IGN has got some more footage from the Wii version of Sonic Unleashed
As I said before, I’m impressed with the way the Wii version of the game is looking.
Despite having lower quality textures than the 360/PS3 versions, this game is looking very good for a Wii title. Though there is still an issue of controls. As you can see in the video, a few corners are not taken very well by the player.
Let’s just hope it’s the player getting used to the controls. It would be immensley frustrating if the game’s controls are not tight enough.
IGN has posted three gameplay videos, check out the rest here.

TGS 08: Sonic and the Black Knight trailer

Sega Europe has kindly posted up the new Sonic and the Black Knight trailer. Apparently this is the “European Cut” of the one that has been shown at TGS. But rather than having to look at a dodgy video, taken by someone filming a screen at the show, we get the proper thing, which is nice.
The video shows a wee bit of CG and a fair amount of gameplay footage from the game, all cut together to form a lovely montage. I’m still torn on the whole idea of Sonic using swords, but the game does look vaguely interesting.

TGS 08: Sonic Unleashed Wii gameplay footage

Gametrailers has posted up some gameplay footage from Sonic Unleashed on the Wii. This is pretty exciting as it is some of the first actual moving footage we have seen from the Wii version.Â
The Wii version is looking (visually) very good. The colours seem a little drabber than some of the 360 footage we have seen, and there is some obvious areas of lower quality visuals. But the game in motion looks fantastic for a Wii game.
Colour me impressed, the game speed is very fast and does appear to be pretty darn smooth. Though I did notice a few bits of frame drop/jerk, but I’m not sure if that is the video or the actual game.Â
Also, Gametrailers has posted up some Xbox 360 gameplay footage from TGS, which is also looking good - after the break.
Review: Samba De Amigo
Posted by Graham. Filed under G, Nintendo Wii, Review. Tagged with Dreamcast, Gearbox, Samba De Amigo.

Despite receiving a generally good reception on the Dreamcast from magazines, websites and the gaming community, Samba De Amigo perhaps didn’t sell quite as well as Sega (and all Sega Nerds) had hoped for.
However, Sega has seen some light and decided to release an updated version of the Dreamcast classic on the Wii. But, is this new version as equally fun as the original game? Or has Sega made a cock-up trying to release it on the Wii?Â
Platinum Games reworking MADWORLD controls
Posted by Graham. Filed under G, News, Nintendo Wii. Tagged with MadWorld, Platinum Games.

According to Joystiq, Platinum Games is currently working on fine tuning the controls for the upcoming blood-fest MADWORLD.
The announcement came at at Nintendo’s Fall Media Summit, where the Joystiq crew were happy to find MADWORLD running on two kiosks, but were soon disappointed to hear that they would not be able to play the game, just yet.
Instead, Sega reps informed us that the game is currently undergoing some fundamental changes to its control scheme and that, well, they basically didn’t want us to play it in its current state.
Shining Force II and Earthworm Jim hit the EU Virtual Console

From today Sega/Nintendo has released two Megadrive classics onto the European Virtual Console. Joining the ranks of retro titles is Shining Force II and Earthworm Jim.
Earthworm Jim was one of my favourite platformers back in the day, with the quirky humour and fun gameplay (man I hope it’s stood the test of time).
Shining Force II is one game I have been dying to get my hands on for some time. I’m a pretty big fan of the Shining franchise, and some people have told me that Shining Force II is their all time favourite of the bunch. So I will be very excited to finally play it.
Both titles will be going for the standard 800 Wii Points and well worth it for a copy of Shining Force II - which can be seen to sell for well over £60 on eBay. No word on US releases of these games, but no doubt they will travel across the Atlanic soon enough.
Let’s Catch - details and screens
Posted by Graham. Filed under G, Japan, News, Nintendo Wii. Tagged with Prope, WiiWare.

With all the excitement/mild confusion surrounding Let’s Tap we are a little delayed in reporting on Prope’s other new title, Let’s Catch. By looking at the logos, it is pretty clear that Prope are trying to establish a new “Let’s” franchise.Â
Unlike Let’s Tap, Let’s Catch is confirmed to be a WiiWare title and, quite naturally, revolves around using the Wiimote to play the game. Essentially it is a virtual game of catch.Â
Yep, for all of us out there who are afraid of sunlight, fresh air and potential rapists, we can now stand in the living room and pretend to catch a ball!
Check after the break for details on the game modes and screenshots.
First gameplay footage of Let’s Tap
Posted by Graham. Filed under G, News, Nintendo Wii, Video. Tagged with Gameplay, Let's Tap, Prope, Trailer.
Earlier we reported on Prope’s new title, Let’s Tap. The first couple of screens wesaw were pretty blurred and it was hard to tell just what was going on. Then we very quickly got our hands on some much better screenshots of the game, and it became pretty clear that it would be a set of mini-games.Â
But we still didn’t have confirmation on how the game was to be played or why it is called “Let’s Tap.“Â Now, with this video, some of our questions have been answered.
[Updated] Prope’s new game called “Let’s Tap”
Posted by George. Filed under George, News, Nintendo Wii. Tagged with Let's Tap, Prope.
We already knew that penguins could play it, people even said it was a rythmn game. But today at Nintendo’s fall confrence they spilled the name of the new Prope game, called Let’s Tap. Its being called the first “Wiimote free” game. I’m assuming you play with the balance board?
The image above is the game running, I don’t know what to make of it. Any guesses on how this game will play? The game looks like it could be a Wiiware game.
[Update] We have some much better screens for you now, which shed a little more light on the game. After the break.
