Hey there Sega Nerds, now is a chance for you to flex your Sega knowledge and help a fellow Sega enthusiast out.  We recently received an email from a Sega fan asking a question about the music in the Xbox game Otogi 2.

This is a odd question to ask but here goes. Back in 2003 there was a game called otogi 2 and in that game was a theme song called “Voices” by somone named “DoRe”, It is truly a beautiful song but I can’t find it anyware nor can I find info on the person singing it. If anyone can find it or point me the right way that would be so great.

So yeah, if anyone knows any further information on DoRe, the song “Voices” and/or where to possibly find the track then let us know by posting in the comments section below and we can pass any good suggestions on.

And if this is vaguely successful, we might see to making this a more permanent feature - where you can pose any tricky Sega-based questions to the whole of the Sega Nerds community.  It should be fun and we can all learn new things along the way :o)

[Thanks: Ben, Via Email]

Sega Soccer Slam coming to Xbox Originals

No matter what people say about Nintendo’s Virtual Console, one thing you can’t knock is that it is consistantly updated and, best of all, it gets a lot of love from Sega.

There are a few Sega games on XBLA (Vintage Collection titles), but so far none of Sega’s Xbox titles have been added to the 360’s other download service, Xbox Originals… until now.

Sega Soccer Slam is the first Sega title to grace the Xbox Originals download collection.  Unfortunately it might not be a title everyone wants, but it most likely to be one of Sega titles few people actually own.  Which can be a good thing - we get to play something new, which is always nice.

Rent-A-Hero No.1 English version leaked online

rentaherobox.jpgDo you know what Rent-A-Hero is? Did you know the original was released on the Megadrive in 1991? This game was only released in Japan ony. But when Sega went 3rd party, there was a deal to bring Rent-A-Hero No.1 to the USA (Xbox version). It was suppose to be published by AIA USA, Ltd (now out of business).

Rent-A-Hero No.1 was first released on the Dreamcast, then later ported to the Xbox. Its not a sequel to the original Megadrive version, but a remake. The Xbox version was suppose to be released in the United States, it was even reviewed by US magazine Game Pro.

The lead character, named Taro Yamada has been featured in Sega’s fighting mash up Fighters Megamix on the Sega Saturn. Segata Sanshiro even makes a cameo appearance in the game, if this isn’t reason enough to play it, I don’t know what is.

Apparently Rent-A-Hero No.1 (USA version) has been popping up on torrent sites. People have downloaded it and confirmed its the full release.

Shenmue Campaign steps it up a notch - but will it work?

Shenmue Campaign

Along with their new site design the guys behind Shenmue Campaign have decided to step up their attempts to get Sega to release Shenmue III and complete the saga.  Something that pretty much all Sega Nerds want.

Rather than just getting people to sign a petition, which most sites do, Shenmue Campaign is asking every Shenmue fan to write letters, emails, one line sentences to them, and they will send them all off to Sega Japan - in a bid to show that fans still want the game.
