More Sega Toys robotic antics, with the Dream Dog DX

As if last week wasn’t enough, when we brought you information on four separate gadgets from Sega Toys, there is yet another toy to keep you entertained. Unlike the Homestar gadgets or the robots we reported on, this one is more for the kids.
The “Dream Dog DX: Golden Retriever” was shown at the Tokyo Toy […]

Sega Japan still showing that arcade lovin’… in private

According to German site, Gamefront, Sega of Japan is due to hold four secret events, in three locations, showing off some of their latest arcade machines, this July.
Unfortunately right now we have no details at all on what the machines are, or what type of machines they will be, i.e - game, gambling, grabber or […]

Sega and Hasbro set the dance floor alight with their robot moves

It’s been a big week of announcements for Sega Toys, this is now the fourth Sega Toys related article in just a few days! And if you thought that my future wife, EMA, was hot then you should check out the moves on this little number.

Sega Toys set to release the new improved Homestar

No, it’s not the Homstar Spa, which we reported on the other day.
It is, yet another, Homestar gadget/toy/device/wizardry (delete as appropriate) from Sega Toys, but back to the original style of placing in your living room and watching the night’s sky from your sofa, instead of the bath tub.

Shiren 3 takes 10th spot in Japanese software charts

Despite my well-documented misgivings about the Shiren series, I’m happy to see its latest release seeing some success in Japan. Chunsoft’s Shiren 3 came in at 10 in last week’s Media Create Japanese software sales charts, selling 14,000 copies and putting its total sold at about 73,000 units.
Shiren 3 saw a considerable dropoff in its […]

Sega plans to show Uranus in your bathroom

No longer will you have to sneak off to the nearby lake during the wee hours of the night to enjoy the night sky while wading around in the water completely naked. That’s because Sega’s releasing the Homestar Spa Planetarium this September for only $70.
The device can also project flower patterns in your bathtub and […]

No love? Sega to end Love and Berry production

Sega’s last certifiable Japanese arcade hit, Love and Berry, appears to have lost its love with Japanese gamers as Sega announced that it will end production and support of the card-based fashion game this September.
The developer cited a general decrease in consumer demand and market saturation after competitors released similar titles as reasons for the […]

New Phantasy Star Portable trailer shows four-player mayhem

It seems like there hasn’t been much gameplay footage of Phantasy Star Portable out there, but this new trailer released at Famitsu shows tons of it.
In addition to all the battle, menu and character creation footage, the video shows four Japanese players having the time of their lives playing local multiplayer. While I certainly don’t […]

Meet my girlfriend - EMA!

Ok, no it’s not my actual girlfriend, but rather a new gadget from Sega Toys.
“EMA,” or Eternal Maiden Actualization, stands at 38cm tall (just over a foot) and has the abilities to sing, dance and walk “like a lady,” according to Sega. Internal infra-red sensors also allow for a high level of interactivity with […]
