[This makes me miss the VMU, even if it was a bit gimmicky]
For those of you who don’t keep up with Dreamcast news, Rush Rush Rally Racing is being developed by Senile Team, the developers of Beats of Rage. The boys over at SegaOnline have gotten an interview with the team and some new screens of the game.
If you examined the screens you’d be able to tell that this title is a top-down racing game, you clever detective! The game has no release date as of yet, but the team does say it is almost finished.

Check out the Sega Museum in video format

Did you go to Japan Expo in Paris this year? I didn’t either. But Romain from JV247 did and even filmed it for us to enjoy. It is like we where there, only that we skipped all the anime stuff and went straight for what we wanted, the Sega Museum.
They where even nice enough to put the Segata Sanshiro theme music in the video, makes me shed a tear, a manly tear. In the video, there is a girl next to a Sega sign, I’m sure UK:R would love that.

Sega not done with mature titles on Wii
Posted by George. Filed under Europe, George, News, Nintendo Wii. Tagged with House of the Dead Overkill, MadWorld, mature, profit, real talk, Sales.

Sega has delivered some of the best M rated titles on the Nintendo Wii this year, both MadWorld and House of the Dead: Overkill where excellent. But did they flop sales wise? Most people you talk to online will say they did.
According to Gary Dunn, MD of European development for Sega, House of the Dead: Overkill was a profitable title, while MadWorld did sell as expected. I’m assuming that is a nice way of saying it flopped?

Sega announces Bleach: The 3rd Phantom’s European release
Posted by Graham. Filed under Europe, G, News, Nintendo DS. Tagged with Anime, Bleach, Bleach: The 3rd Phantom, Strategy RPG, Tactical RPG.

Sega Europe has announced that the tactical RPG, Bleach: The 3rd Phantom, is coming to Europe. Even though the game has been out in Japan for just over a year now and the US version due September 2009, the European version won’t arrive until early next year - bit of a long wait for European Bleach fans (if there are any).

The DS exclusive is set before the anime series and focuses on the Soul Reaper twins, Fujimaru Kudo and his sister Matsuri Kudo. I assume Bleach fans will know who they are, because I have no idea, but apparently the title will feature other familiar characters plus some new ones created for the game.
More information in the full press release, after the break.
Empire: Total War soundtrack coming out June 30th
Posted by George. Filed under Europe, George, News, PC. Tagged with Empire: Total War, iTunes, Music, Soundtrack.

If you where one of the million gamers that can’t get enough Empire: Total War, well you might be in luck. Sumthing Else Music Works has announced that they will be releasing the Empire: Total War soundtrack, in both physical and digital copies. The retail version will be sold through sumthing.com, while the digital version will be up at sumthingdigital.com and iTunes.
Richard Beddow, the composer and producer for the soundtrack put in a ton of work and thought into how to get the music just right.
“Undertaking the challenge of the music production for Empire: Total War was no simple task,” said composer Richard Beddow. “The game needed music to convey its size and breadth, covering the various countries at war, delicately accompanying campaign gameplay and underpinning the various cinematics and events in the game.”
The games music was performed by The Slovak National Symphony Orchestra at the Slovak Radio Concert Hall in Bratislava. Got to say, I love that Creative Assembly games get soundtrack releases in the west. Can we now ask for a Valkyria Chronicles soundtrack (outside of Japan)?

Sega to join Japan Expo in Paris
Posted by George. Filed under Europe, George, Nintendo DS, Nintendo Wii, Retro. Tagged with Bayonetta, Japan Expo, Let's Tap, Museum Sega, Paris, Phantasy Star Ø, Virtua Tennis 2009.
Sega has confirmed that they will be at the upcoming Japan Expo, in Paris. They will be showing exclusive games, like the first playable western build of Phantasy Star Ø.
Sega is also bringing playable versions of Bayonetta, Let’s Tap and Virtua Tennis 2009. They will be announcing a DS game in Europe, a few days before the show and that game will be playable at Japan Expo for the first time. The unannounced game will be a localized version of a Japanese DS game, according to the source. Maybe 7th Dragon or Shining Force Feather? I wish!
If that wasn’t enough, Sega will have their own Museum stand at the expo. Called ‘MUSEUM SEGA,’ it will have the entire history of Sega, all 80 years.
They expect more than 150,000 visitors this year, hopefully a few of those visitors are Sega Nerds. Japan Expo will run from July 2 to 5 at the Exhibition Center Paris Nord Villepinte. Sega stand will be at Hall 4, under ‘Video Games.’

Sega Europe has just released a new and (apparently) final trailer for the Wii FPS, The Conduit. You should hopefully know enough about the game to have decided if you are interested.
So sit back, relax and enjoy the show.
The Conduit is out in Europe July 10th and is out in the US now.

Just who are you following on Twitter?
Posted by Graham. Filed under Europe, G, News, Sonic. Tagged with Fan Stuff, Followers, Football Manager, Phantasy Star, Shenmue, Sports Interactive, Total War, twitter, Valkyria Chronicles, Virtua Tennis.
What with Twitter being a relatively new, trendy medium in which to hassle and obsess over your favourite stars (or indeed video game company), Sega has made it just that little bit easier for you to follow them by pointing out which of their Twitter accounts are actually real.
The official SEGA accounts are:
SEGA - Official SEGA community team for Europe and America
sonicgames - Official Sonic The Hedgehog
phantasystar - Phantasy Star
valkyriatribune - Valkyria Chronicles
totalwar - Total War series (Creative Assembly)
TheConduit - The Conduit
FootManLive - Football Manager Live
and si_games for Sports Interactive (Football Manager)
Those are the main accounts, but Sega also has a couple of other accounts they use, including a Shenmue account - which clearly needs a bigger following. Get on it people.
There are also accounts for Virtua Tennis (virtuatennis) and Shenmue (shenmue) but these are not as active, your main ports of call on Twitter for SEGA interaction are going to be @SEGA, @sonicgames and @phantasystar.
So if you are on the Twitter bandwagon, but haven’t been sure if the Sega-related account you’ve been following is real, then just check the above list.
And if you want to follow us, we are also on Twitter - @SegaNerds - because we are just as trendy as Sega.

Sega Game Deals: SEGA Rally (PC) under a £1!
Posted by Graham. Filed under Europe, G, News, PC. Tagged with Amazon, Damn Cheap, Sega Game Deals, Sega Rally.
The highly under rated multiplatform arcade-style racing game from, the now defunct, Sega Racing Studios is currently selling for under £1 over at Amazon.co.uk.
The PC version of SEGA Rally is being sold for just 89 pence! If you just want to buy the game on it’s own, you will need to throw in a couple of extra £’s for postage. However, if you buy a couple of other things, and bring your overall price to over £5, then shipping is free!
In fact if you are really into your Sega Rally games and own a Dreamcast (as well as PC), you should be able to buy the three main console/PC titles; Sega Rally (1995), Sega Rally 2 and SEGA Rally for just £5.47! Bloody bargain.

Summer of Sonic location revealed
Posted by Graham. Filed under Europe, G, News, Retro, Sonic. Tagged with Fan Stuff, Lee Brotherton, Richard Jacques, SoS, Summer of Sonic, T.J Davis.

It’s been a while since we’ve heard any updates on this year’s Summer of Sonic exhibition, but that doesn’t mean the organisers haven’t been busy behind the scenes.
Previously only one thing had been confirmed, the date - August 29th. But now Svend Jocelyne, SoS organiser and main guy over at The Sonic Stadium, has confirmed the venue’s location.
“SOS 09 will take place in the colourful marketplace of Brick Lane, at Truman Brewery’s Boiler House. We have more details on the location, including a handy map, on our newly opened Where Is It page - do give it a nose.”
