Persona 5 nominated for Game of the Year award

Can Persona 5 beat out Nintendo's Mario Odyssey, Breath of the Wild?

The long awaited Atlus JRPG Persona 5 was released earlier this year and blew gamers away. While the game’s high level of quality wasn’t a surprise, what did surprise us was how well it sold beyond its hardcore audience. It seems that the Persona series has finally getting the attention from the larger gaming audience it deserves.

To further prove that point, Geoff Keighley’s “The Game Awards” released their nominees for the Game of the Year award, and Persona 5 made the list, alongside Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, PlayerUnknown’s: Battleground, and Horizon Zero Dawn.

Persona 5 was also nominated for Best Art Direction, Best Score/Music and Best Role Playing Game.

I’m sure many would expect that Sonic Mania would get nominated in a few categories, but disappointingly, it was only nominated for Best Family Game. Laaaaaame!

The winners will be announced on Dec. 7, and you can find out more at http://thegameawards.com.
