Sonic the Hedgehog officially turned 25 over the weekend, and a special event to celebrate that momentous occasion was held to reveal a couple of interesting announcements. Sonic Team head Takashi Iizuka officially announced that a new Sonic game was happening and that it will be released next year. A more detailed announcement about the next Sonic game will be revealed during the July 22nd event at the 25th Anniversary party.
