Happy Console Gamer talks Shenmue, Streets of Rage vinyls

Did you hear about how Data Discs will release remastered Shenmue and Streets of Rage soundtracks on vinyl records later this year for £19.99? Well, our buddy the Happy Console Gamer talks about it in his latest video, so give it a watch.

Meanwhile, Data Discs have uploaded two Shenmue songs (“Sedge Tree” and “Dawn” on their SoundCloud page).

The Shenmue vinyls will come in three versions to choose from:

• 180g translucent blue vinyl with ‘color in color’ effect (exclusive to the Data Discs website)
• 180g translucent blue vinyl
• 180g black virgin vinyl

All copies include a traditional OBI strip, spot varnished cover and a lithographic print, according to Data Discs. It features music by Takenobu Mitsuyoshi, Ryuji Iuchi, Osamu Murata and Yuzo Koshiro.

The Streets of Rage vinyls will also come in three versions:

• 180g translucent red vinyl with black splatter (exclusive to the Data Discs website)
• 180g translucent red vinyl
• 180g black virgin vinyl

All copies include a traditional OBI strip and two lithographic prints that feature artwork from the Japanese and US/EU editions of the game. Initial orders will also include five playing cards featuring original character art, packaged in a hand-stamped envelope.

Pre-orders for both soundtracks will begin on May 30th through Data Discs’ website.
