So yeah, this was reported by a few SEGA fan sites yesterday and initially we didn’t report on it, because it didn’t make sense… sort of.
Basically it was announced that Super Hang-On‘s 20th Anniversary soundtrack had been released on iTunes and Amazon. Why didn’t this make sense? Because it wasn’t Super Hang-On‘s 20th anniversary. It’s not even it’s anniversary year!
Having another look in the cold morning light today, I realised where the confusion lay.
The Super Hang-On 20th Anniversary OST was released on iTunes back in 2007. Which makes more sense, because the game was originally released in the arcades in 1987. So this would technically be its 26th anniversary, which isn’t quite as catchy.
However, the same 20th Anniversary OST was only released on Amazon’s digital music store this week (April 23rd in the US and April 24th in the UK). It’s a bit odd, but there you go.
The crux of the matter is that you can now get some Super Hang-On soundtrack loving from both iTunes and Amazon [UK] [US] for $9.99 or £7.99 – which is a great thing. I’d actually forgotten how catchy the soundtrack was until I went and had a quick listen.
