Sega releases a ton of new Sonic and the Black Knight screens

What with Sonic Unleashed being released recently, and all the excitement of Christmas just around the corner, I’m sure some of you will have forgotten that Sega has another Sonic title on the way for 2009.
So to help us all remember, Sega Europe has released a ton of screens for Sonic and the Black Knight. [Edit] Apparently they are all new screens Most of these are new screens, but we have seen a few before from dodgy magazine scans that have cropped up here and there.
No scans here though, and I have to admit some of what we are shown is pretty damn decent, especially for the Wii. Check after the break for the full selection.
Could be a trick of the camera, but some of those areas look really nice and open, something we haven’t really experienced in any 3D Sonic titles. And it looks like there will be some good use of lighting - look at that sunset. Come on everyone together, “Ooooh.”

I thought Knuckles was supposed to have two swords and not just an axe?
I am kind of mixed on some images, but I think this game has more potential than Sonic Unleashed did.

I dunno. After seeing one of the images, I can tell that Knucklehead is wielding two blades.

Does this game have more in common with the Sonic series other than Sonic and Knuckles? It appears that they could have created a new character to create a new franchise rather than stick Sonic in it.

@Segamon
It is more a spin-off, as it follows the (new) “Storybook” theme, that started with Sonic and the Secret Rings.
So basically they are taking the whole Arthurian (King Arthur) tale/era, sticking Sonic characters in it, and giving the story a bit of a tweak here and there - like Secret Rings id with the whole Arabian Nights idea.
But I still think Sega could have made up a new character (one that is designed to use swords) and they could have tried to start off a new IP, rather than butchering Sonic even more.

After playing Secret Rings and Unleashed (for both Xbox 360 and Wii), I’m convinced that Sonic belongs on the Wii.
Black Knight is looking outstanding so far.

Sorry Gravatar, but the Mega Drive died with the Super Famicom.

Things die to people that believe so, Mega Drive Lives!
This game looks really nice. Please, please help turn SEGA around along with their current success!

Pretty sweet. Maybe I’ll dust off and connect my Wii for this one. After I’m done with it? Back into the dark abyss that is behind my TV to collect dust and wait to see the sunlight again.

I agree and sega belongs the wii too. While the ps3 and 360 offer pc style gaming with high resolution graphics and high powered cpus, the wii offers ARCADE style gaming with motion controls and simplicity. Sega never was a pc company, it was an arcade company.
Sega does its best work on the wii. Nothing has convinced me otherwise.

No no no no… Daryl, SONIC belongs on the Wii. Other Sega franchises don’t.
