Valkyria Chronicles

The European demo for Valkyria Chronicles is now available for download from the Playstation Network.  The game is due for release in Europe on October 31st.

We reported a few days ago how the demo would be heading to the US, but unfortunately gamers will have to pay for the privilege, as it comes “free” with the PSN’s online gaming magazine, Qore.  So you will either need to be a subscriber, or pay a one-off fee to download the demo magazine.

So, you American chappies can either wait, and pay to try the game.  Or you could try to setup a seperate European account on your PS3, so you can download the demo that way - at least I’m told that is doable.

The full press release is after the break.

LONDON (9th October, 2008)– SEGA® Europe Ltd. proudly announces that the playable demo, featuring 2 playable levels for Valkyria Chronicles™, is now live on PlayStation® Network. Players will be able to experience for themselves a taste of the incredible CANVAS graphical engine and the exciting action strategy that Valkyria Chronicles offers.

SEGA is also pleased to confirm that the release date for the PlayStation® 3 exclusive has recently moved up by 2 weeks. Valkyria Chronicles will now launch in PAL territories on October 31st.

Valkyria Chronicles is set in a fictitious continent reminiscent of 1930s Europe on the verge of a great war. The game follows Welkin, a heroic commander who leads his small platoon against a merciless invading army. As Welkin’s small country of Gallia is engulfed in battle, the emergence of the“Valkyria”, an ancient race with special powers thought to exist only in legends, turns the tide of the war. Faced with a new threat, Welkin and his troops gather their courage to fight for their freedom.

Downloaded it earlier today, and wow, the graphics are amazing. And it was funt to play. Grate demo, seems like SEGA has done another Fantastic game, as they seem to do every 4th year or so. The last really really awesome game i played from Sega was the first Yakuza.

Yakuza 2 came out last month. So 2 great games. :0

I also liked Viking: Battle for Asgard.

I find it funny that you judge a whole company based on the few games you played.
