New Phantasy Star Zero screenshots and info

When we first posted about Phantasy Star Zero earlier this week, we bragged about how you can play over Wifi. But scans didn’t do justice to the games graphics. Here are some direct screen caps, thanks to the new official site.
They also posted some new info, like the fact you will be able to create your own character! I can’t wait to make my albino robot named G. There will be 3 races and 14 classes. Looks like its Human, Newman, and Android as races. The game will take place on a planet and its moon (though they haven’t told us their names yet).
Rappies make their awesome return in this game, seen in one of the screenshots. We also see Dylon City, that looks like it will act as a port for buying, trading, and that sort of the thing.

Woah, even though the screens are kind of small (Sega’s fault!)- the game does look pretty cool.
I’m glad they did the right thing and gave the game online. That’s the one thing that instantly made me not want the PSP game.
Most of my (real life) friends don’t own PSPs, and even less play online/multiplayer RPGs.
A game like this needs it’s online.

This is wonderful! I agree with Gamerschoice, hit the states with it!
I was first going to save up a PSP for Phantasy Star Portable, but nevermind because since I’ve got a DS, this is my choice.
The characters look a bit like they’re from wildarms.
I’m really looking forward to more of this game!

Why is it called Zero?
Is it a prequel to the orignal trilogy (excluding PS3)

It is allegedly a prequel to Phantasy Star Online. I say “allegedly” because there’s been no confirmation one way or another. Considering the race/class mix-up and that there are photons in it I don’t think it’s a prequel to the original series.

Its so they can call it PS0 <– with a Zero and it looks like PSO <– with a O.

But if it’s a prequel to PSO then what would the story be like?
Just wondering if it would be set on Ragol again?
-Because if it is, and it’s a prequel… then we’d all surely die at the end :s
(In PSO you go down to the planet after the massive explosion thing which wipes out all life.)
Be a bit weird playing a game like that… unless maybe Sega makes up a twist to the original PSO story. Or maybe it’s got nothing to do with the PSO story at all.
(I’m just speculating here).

^Or maybe it doesn’t end with the explosion, and instead ends sometime before. Then with the inevitable PS0 ver. 2 they would throw in the rest of the story.
I’ve got a small bit of hope in my heart that they’ll throw a few of the old Phantasy Star games in on this as extras. Hopefully they’ll give us PS4, since 1-3 are available on GBA.

I agree but I must say this game does look good but how r th3e online featurws set up cause I want it but my friends who play psu doesn’t have ds so whts the point of getting it if I gather play bye my self sega needs 2 exsopand there mmo franchise with better roming features andd ideas cause if they don’t this phantasy franchise won’t last 2 long in the future mmo era look at psu its already dieng I say sega needs 2 bring back the old school games like double dragons or battletoads and even streets of rage
