GC 2008: Samba De Amigo - Ulala confirmed and songs revealed

You might have thought that Sega had shown us enough of the upcoming Samba De Amigo for the Wii, and that they had revealed pretty much everything about the game. You would be wrong.
Today, at the Leipzig Games Convention, Sega revealed the game’s track list and some new screenshots featuring the simultaneously lovely and sexy Ulala, from Space Channel 5!
Since Sonic was announced as a featured character in the Wii version of Samba, people have been speculating whether Sega/Gearbox (the developers) would be adding any more fan favourites to the lineup.
What with Ulala coming from a rhythm/music game herself, she was one of the top guesses, and I’m glad to see Sega used their initiative and put her in. Now I wonder if any other Sega characters will feature too? I want to see Ryo Hazuki on this dance floor! ;)
The track list Sega has announced features many of the songs from the original Dreamcast game, plus plenty of new Wii-exclusive tunes to shake your “heiny” to.
Check after the break for more screenshots and that track list.

Mexican Flyer! Ulala’s there, so it’s perfect.
Is that the entire song list? I thought someone said they’d be including some classic SEGA songs.

Anyone else find it rather amusing that not only is Ulala in the game but a song by Deee-Lite is as well?
For anyone unaware, Lady Miss Kier of Deee-Lite tried suing SEGA for supposedly using her likeness as the basis for Ulala. Not only did she lose the trial, but she had to pony up some heavy money to SEGA.
Rather funny how one of their songs eventually DOES show up along with Ulala.

I can’t believe the few classic Sega songs there are! I will still get it though hopefully they will put the classics as DLC.

The classic SEGA songs were downloadables in the last games. It won’t be surprising to see them as DLC in this version.

Looks good I hope I will have enough money to afford it.

Sweet. I’ve got it reserved, so when the time comes I’ll be ready to shake a Wiimote like it’s 1999 to a crappy cover of ‘Tubthumpin’!
*na1018, I think it’s $40, so you’ll probably be able to scrape that together.

Looking Good. Here’s hoping NiGHTS get that cameo place reserved again for him. If Dreams Dreams is on the track list (and they’ve decided to keep it in) then there’s no doubt he’ll show up too.
Looking forward to this. :)

I totally called this!
Well, now that we’ve proven that Gearbox loves some of the more obscure franchises as well…I’m definitely hoping for a NiGHTS level, as well as something from Jet Set Radio.
And Shenmue. Imagine…Ryo vs. Amigo in the ULTIMATE MARACA SMACKDOWN.
(As for Sega music? My guess is that both the stages and songs are unlockable, and a “series” is unlocked as a whole. It’s kind of like how unlocking Sonic in Smash Bros. got you Green Hill Zone and Shadow as well.)

@Tsukento
What’s better is that the Dee Lite song isn’t even a cover. So, I guess the feud is over, amirite?
(Oh, and sorry for the double post.)
