Sega Toys releases girls-only music player

Our favourite makers of electronic toys/gizmos, Sega Toys, has released a new MP3 player to the Japanese market.
The Soundcarrier Party comes in two colours; white and pink, and Sega Toys is marketing the device specifically for females, 8 years and up.
The lucky ladies will be able to attach the player easily to belts or bags and can display scrollable, self-written messages on its screen. The device also has a mirror attached to its back to help apply make-up - plus a tiny accessories case too. The device also has the ability to play mini games with the player or get their fortune told.
The Soundcarrier Party also has a small speaker built in, so you can share music with your friends (apparently carrying a Hi-fi over your shoulder isn’t “hip” anymore).
The player can hold music for 120 minutes with its internal memory and also features an SD memory card slot. It is powered by a single AAA battery, while the speaker needs 3 AA batteries.
Quite the package eh? There is no word about a western release, and quite frankly I hope Sega Toys does not release it in the UK.
Not that I have a thing against pink MP3 players - my first iPod was pink (long story - but it was a great deal and also meant no one was going to steal it… I mean who the hell wants a pink iPod?). But rather my issue lies with the built in speaker.
There are enough ‘cool’ kids in the UK who seem intent on playing their incredibly sh*t music off their mobiles, out loud for everyone to hear - and I’d rather not have another device on the market which can do the same. But I’m sure the Japanese kids are much better behaved.

this is nothing new, zillions of MP3 players already have built in speakers.
