Yu Suzuki not working at Sega anymore?

According to Simon Jeffery in a recent interview with Gamasutra, famed Sega producer Yu Suzuki (known for titles such as Shenmue, Outrun, and many more) is not working at Sega anymore.
“Speaking of names, what has happened to Yu Suzuki?
SJ: Last I heard, he was doing some online stuff in China.
He’s spearheaded an arcade racing title. Is he just really off in his own world?
SJ: Yeah. He’s kind of his own man right now. Every now and again, he’ll come up with an idea, and I don’t think anything has come out of that yet, but we’re still working with him. He’s not an employee anymore, but…
I wasn’t sure if he was still actually a Sega employee.
SJ: Not as far as I know.”
But then again, Simon Jeffery could be wrong. However, this could explain why Shenmue Online and Psy-Phi never came out…

He’s the head of Digitalrex, which is a SEGA subsidiary. He’s just not the head of an internal team anymore. Everyone needs to calm down a but.

So what’s the racing game they’ve made note of? R-Tuned?

To answer/respond to some of the comments here.. the racing game Yu worked on was Sega Race TV. Also, the last thing Digital Rex was working on, was Shenmue Online for the Chinese market… which was actually canceled a year or two back.
Pretty sad, actually. Yu Suzuki’s games are what I grew up playing the most..

I love Yu. He’s always had the best games. I think he’s better than that over-rated hack Miyamoto. There hasn’t been a good Mario game since Mario 64! But Virtua Fighter is still everything it used to be but more and better.
