PowerPlayDirect is selling Yakuza 2 for £15.99 and free shipping. If you don’t pick this game up, you are the cancer that is killing Sega. So pick up two copies, give one to a friend. Sharing is caring.
The game hits European shores on September 28th. If you didn’t know that, I don’t blame you, Sega’s marketing department isn’t doing much for the title.

Golden Axe Beast Rider gamer pictures reveal Gilius and Ax Battler artwork

Wow, Gilius has some nice artwork. I thought Ax Battler was going to be worst, everyone said he looked emo. I really can’t wait to see some footage of Gilius , he is the best character in Golden Axe.
The artwork doesn’t look bad at all, maybe it will be worth pre-ordering and getting that free art book.

New Golden Axe: Beast Rider trailer and achievements released

Sega has released a new trailer for their upcoming game Golden Axe: Beast Rider as well as the achievements list.
The game will have forty achievements, one hidden.

Get your limited edition Sonic Chronicles at Nintendo World

The GameSpot’s video game show, On The Spot, made a little announcement last night. Those gamers who go to the Nintendo World store on September the 28th, will be in with the chance of being able to pick up a limited edition Sonic Chronicles, early.
The game is not set for release until September 30th, but those who visit the Nintendo store on the Sunday, will be able to get a signed copy of the game. Plus, Sega has said that everyone needs to bring their DS, because they can download a limited edition Chao, which you cannot get anywhere else.
Just so you know, you can collect Chaos in the game, and they help your characters in combat. So it is quite a cool thing to get.
If you do watch this episode of On The Spot, just note that the Sega rep did screw up. He said that gamers would need to be at Nintendo World on August 28th - which was the same day that the video actually went up, and was also not a Sunday.
So either everyone has missed out, or it is September 28th.

Review: Space Siege

Now, I’m not a massive PC gamer, as a result you will have to forgive me for never playing the original Dungeon Siege game.
One other problem I had with the game was that (apparently) my computer was unable to handle the game properly. Even though the specs of my computer outstripped the ‘Recommended Specs’ (not by much - but was still better) I found that I had to run the game in a windowed view and with all the settings on low. The only thing that might have held me back was my graphics card, although (on paper) it should have been perfectly acceptable.
The main issue here is that I will be unable to judge the game’s graphics as Gas Powered Games intended them to look. But, after the adjusting, the game ran smoothly enough so I can talk about how it plays and whether it is good or not.

Sega shows off its Amusement Machine Show line up

Its the 46th Amusement Machine Show, that is old.
Thankfully for the event, Sega got a big booth to show off some of its upcoming titles. I still think the titles I’m most interested in are Virtua Fighter 5 R and The House of the Dead EX. The show will start on September 20th at 10:00 am.

Just like the deal with Golden Axe: Beast Rider, only for a much better game. If you pre-order Valkyria Chronicles you get a neat looking art book. Make sure to pick up this game, it ships on November 11th and Pre-order it through Gamestop to get the free art book!
This is the first time seeing the new cover for the western release, I actually think it looks better than the Japanese version. What do you guys think?

Announcement: We have a new staff member… it’s a girl!

I’d like everyone to welcome the first our new staff members, (we are getting more than one), Brittany. Yes, she is a girl (or so she tells me), so that’s something pretty exciting - our very first female member of staff!
But, even though she may be different to what some of us (especially me) are used to, I’m sure you will all welcome her into our community with open arms, and make her feel at home.Â
That of course means making fun of her gaming taste, saying “But girls can’t play games!” and barraging her with gay jokes, (or are those just reserved for me?).
So say a big “Hello” to Brittany, or if you frequent the forums, she goes by the name “killtacular” there.
So let’s be civil people, there’s a lady in the room now ;o)

Beijing fever hits the stores, boosting Sega’s sales

Well it was pretty inevitable, with the Beijing Olympics being a pretty big success, Olympic fever has hit the gaming shelves, putting Sega’s sales in some pretty respectable positions in the charts.
